Downtown Disney West Side

Downtown Disney West Side offers an interesting collection of shops, restaurants and nightclubs, but the main draws are the ecletic entertainment venues, Disney Quest and Cirque de Soleil. The latter, a world-famous non-animal circus, makes it's home in an enourmous grey building that resembles a circus tent. The spectacular show which takes place inside is a theatrical mix of acrobatics, trapeze, and modern dance, with outrageous costumes, a dramatic soundtrack, and some breath-taking feats. Disney Quest features five-storeys of virtual reality, inumerable arcade games, and so much more! Click on the link above for more information. There is also an awesome state-of-the-art 24 screen AMC Theatre and two nightclubs: Bongos Cuban Café, created by Gloria and Emilio Estefan - this club features the flavours and rythm of Cuba and Latin America; and House of Blues, which nightly features live bands. Downtown Disney West Side has a slew of interesting shops including the Virign Megastore, which features two floors of music plus books and videos; Disney's Candy Cauldron, offering a seemingly unending variety of tempting treats; Staribilias, which sells celebrity memorabilia from television, film, music, politics, and history; Magnetron, selling nothing but magnets, 20,000 different ones; Sosa Family Cigars, which sells premium cigars; Celebrity Eyeworks Studio, selling replicas of celebrity sunglasses; Hoypoloi, which sells decorative items such as ceramics, sculpture, and jewelry; Guitar Gallery, which sells a wide variety of high-quality guitars; All Star Gear, which sells all kinds of sporting goods; and the Wildhorse Store, selling a wide variety of western merchandise. Restaurants and food choices include Wolfgang Puck Café, serving gourmet pizza, pasta, chicken, and sushi; Forty Thirst Street, offering refreshing drinks ranging from espresso to orange juice; and Planet Hollywood, where you can eat burgers, pasta, salads, pizza, and sandwhiches amid movie memorablia. You can also find great food at the two clubs, House of Blues and Bongos Cuban Café.
