The house is situated close to a 13^th Century fortified 'Bastide' town called Monflanquin, fortified to repel the English in the Lot et Garonne region in the South West of France. Nearby cities are Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Agen although the nearest airport is Bergerac, then Toulouse or Bordeaux.
