I lived in
the same home in Scottsdale, Tasmania for the first
17 years of my life, so it is obviously a pretty
special place. It is a small town located in the
north-east corner of Tasmania, an hour away from
the nearest city of Launceston. It is set in a
patchwork quilt of rich farming land and towering
forest, only 20km from the rich blue sea of Bass
Strait.
There is a
beautiful relaxed lifestyle in Scottsdale where
everybody knows everybody, and people lead healthy
lives, eating lots of potatoes. The main
industries/crops are potatoes, other vegetables,
cows (beef/dairy), hops for beer, sawmilling and
forestry.
