Greetings, we're Cade and Lisa Johnson - gone cruising. We set sail in mid-April 2001. Our travels to-date are traced on the map and described in our log.

LATEST NEWS: April 2006 - We have stopped in Porto Bello and are making day trips via bus to Colon and Panama City to restock the boat after a nice three months cruising the coast of Colombia and the San Blas Islands. Our outboard motor was stolen in the Rosario Islands just after we left Cartagena in January, but we were able to buy a new one here in Panama last month. Our computer was doused with seawater and died quickly, but we have a new one aboard now from Car-PC which is working great. We have been traveling with our friends on ITHAKA, and also a lot with QUE LINDA!, but we have just recently had to say goodbye as our route and their have diverged. But all is well.

We have not made web page updates here other than on this page because we have been occupied with modifying subsidiary web pages we have developed for a Kuna resort in Mamitupu (Cabanas Waica) and our friend Jesus Smith Kantule who lives in the village of Ustupu and has a collection of Kuna Cultural Information.

LOOKING AHEAD: We are continuing west from central Panama to the Bocas del Toro region at the western end of the north coast of Panama. From there, we think we will be returning east to Cartagena as the shipyard prices there are consistently more affordable than what we have recently had quoted from a yard in La Ceiba, Honduras. We do not plan to stay long in Cartagena this time however, as we are thinking of heading northeast from there in about October.

Updates are sometimes difficult for us to post due to poor and expensive internet service, but we will make updates when we can.

We visit internet cafes when we reach a new destination to check email and sometime to update this web page. If you wish to contact us you may use our internet email address sy_sd@yahxx.com (you have to change the xx to oo). We have a mail forwarding service if you really need to send us a note - 411 Walnut Street, #1477, Green Cove Springs, Florida, zip code 32043. However, please keep mail to a minimum as we have to pay sometimes-exhorbitant international shipping costs.

We also have access to email while underway via slow radio link through the incredible generosity of HAM radio operators around the world who operate the Winlink radio email system. Our radio HAM callsign is KG4JXT, and we can receive email directed to "callsign"@winlink.org. With our callsign you can also find our current position via the winlink site.
