Hi. I'm Chris Martin. I live in New Jersey. The purpose of this page originally was to allow me to have a place where I can practice writing HTML. Lately I've found that instead of learning new HTML I've been cutting and pasting and altering my existing pages to create new ones. Basically I'm trying to add things to the site while learning as little HTML as possible. So I guess now the purpose of this page is to allow me to have a place where I can put various pictures of vacations and things to show my friends and family with as little effort as possible. Until I revive my interest in HTML, all my pages will look the same. The only changes will be in content, not in the versatility of the site.

These pictures were taken during a trip to Negril, Jamaica in January 1999. Ruth and I stayed at an eco-friendly resort called Negril Cabins. I would certainly recommend Negril Cabins to anyone but I would suggest NOT taking the shuttle bus from the airport. Try to arrange a small flight to the Negril airport.

I traveled with Cate out west for a few different reasons. We saw some of her family in Indiana and Oklahoma. I wanted to see the St. Louis Arch. One night we stayed at a naturist resort called the Forty-Acre Club in Missouri. We saw the historic Chief Vann House in Geogia which was the home of one of Cate's Cherokee ancestors. We also stopped in New Orleans, La., Pigeon Forge, TN., Wheeling, WV., and a bunch of other places. Most of the pictures are of the Arch because I thought it was the most photogenic sight of the trip. We drove about 3700 miles in 9 days.

This trip I took by myself. I met some nice people there. I spent a lot of time relaxing, sitting by the pool, and walking on the beach. I met someone who I went on two excursions with. We went on a snorkeling trip nearby. We also went on a trip to Chichen Itza where we saw some ruins and a big pyramid. I stayed at an all inclusive resort called the Royal Solaris Caribe. I loved the place and would go again. The food was great, the people were nice, and it wasn't too close to the overcrowded downtown area.
