The Philippines!!!

Now that's a great place for travel. The people are extremely friendly and helpful and food, transport and lodging are relatively cheap.

I went spelunking (caving) in Tuguegaro (if I remember the spelling correctly) and diving in Club Paradise and El Nido as well as the normal travelling stuff.

If you like beer, you get it cheap at 26 cents a bottle and a bottle of gin for only $1.80! No, we didn't go crazy and get too drunk, but the gin did come in useful for sterilizing our utensils and fingers after all the caving!

Pitching tents by the lake and bathing there was part of the fun..... visiting the villages during their festivals and going from house to house also was quite an experience.........

And like I said, it's hard to get better service anywhere else in the world. Imagine being paddled on a canoe into inlets and caves, then out comes a table cloth, candle light, plates, utensils and food........

And imagine getting out of a night dive onto the boat and being served hot soup and serenaded by guitar.........

It was also where I learnt that there are many ways to uncap a bottle even though you don't have a bottle opener.
