Prove All Things:
(Don't just swallow it up!)
I. Thes. 5:21 - "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." -
And ... (Prov. 8:13)
... hate evil, sin, but not the sinner. Their deeds, not their souls.
Prov. 3:5-7 - "Trust in Yahveh with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear Yahveh, and depart from evil."
I. John 4:1 - "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try [test] the spirits whether they are of Elohiym: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." - Many, not just a few.
Mt. 7:16 - "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes
of thorns, or figs of thistles? " Please note: - It plainly says "fruits" (deeds, works, actions), and not just "words."
Prov. 14:15 - "The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man
looketh well to his going."
Prov. 1:5-7 - "A wise man will hear, and will increase learning;
and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: To understand a proverb,
and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. The fear
of Yahveh is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and
instruction." - This, my friend, is just the beginning of wisdom. The
beginning only, the end needs a lot more.
Job 34:3 - "For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat." - To "try" here means, to "test." Test people's words, prove them, "Is it as they say?" - "What says the Bible about it?" - "Do they live what they preach?" - "Could you imagine Yeshua doing/saying this?" - etc., etc., etc.
Hebr. 4:12 - "For the word of Elohiym is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and
marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart." -
This is a very important key verse of the Bible. It reveals, that His Word is the discerner! Confront people with the Word, the Truth, and by their reaction you can see where they come from, and also where they stand.
Mal. 3:18 - "Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth Elohiym, and him that serveth him not." - "Return" here means, to "repent." If we repent, and walk with Elohiym, He will open unto us the Scriptures, (Lk. 24:45)
that we be able to understand them, and thus they would enable us to discern. To discern [judge] what is good - and what is evil; what is right - and what is wrong; what is true - and what is false.
