Superalloy Jargon
Crack Creep:
The rate at which cracks increase in size at extreme temperatures:
Tensil Strength:
The maximum tension a material can withstand without tearing.
Temperature Shock:
Temperature shock occurs when a substance goes from very hot, to very cold, or vice versa.  The difference in temperature will often cause the substance to crack or even shatter, depending on how brittle it is.
