	The Volcanos are surf band. They play a bunch of original instrumentals influenced by the cool early 60's California surf sound. One key element of these songs is the democratic interplay between guitarists Chris and Rick. Now, I'm not talkin' artsy-fartsy guitar wankin' here, just tasty combo arrangements with classic guitar tones. Bass player Dave, the guy with the best hair, makes the girls swoon when he steps up to the mike to sing his clever original songs. Perpetual-motion-machine Bill keeps it all movin' with his overwound clockwork drumming. In their live shows they break up the instros with a mix of crowd-pleasing surf and garage vocal tunes, covers and originals. They deliver the goods with a high-energy rockin' attitude that betrays their Motor City roots. These guys got together in '94 and formed the Volcanos after serving time in other local combos such as: The 3-D Invisibles, The Zombie Surfers, The KAOS Killers, Screamin' Savage & the Cavemen, and The Seatbelts. Shortly after joining forces, the Volcanos hit the studio and recorded their first two singles: Krakatoa/Side-swipe 7" & The Last Wave/Twilight At Rincon 7", which were both self released and were followed by their first Estrus release, the "Deora" 7". The Volcanos erupted with their first full length Estrus LP/CD "SurfQuake" in 1995, which garnered rave reviews from surf hounds the world over. They followed up with their second full length record, "Finish Line Fever", released at the tail end of '98 on Estrus Records and it's another racer's dozen of 14 full-blown, all instro surf & turf that'll have your gears grindin' from the first blasts of the tire smokin' title track straight through to the last bad action beats of "Theme From ACTION"... The Volcanos prove once again that they are connoisseurs of the rockin' 60's surf/hot rod sound. They've done some other 45s and appeared on several compilations. Watch out for future eruptions.
