... ALL YOU HAVE TO DO!

We Filipinos share something in common. and that is the love for singing. It is a well-known fact that almost all of us can sing (though not professionally!) and it is evident in our fondness for singing in karaoke bars and the proliferation of music bars in the country. Now, it is that paricular interest that I would like to dwell on. I want to share with you something that Im good at to ensure that I could provide you all the nitty-grityy of the subject. By sharing this with you, I hope that I could bring out the good singer in each and every one of you.

Those who are not gifted may find this useful and can be assured that singing can be developed. It can be learned. with proper attitude and poitive outlook, all things are possible even though you may think that it is hopeless. And for those who have the ability to sing though not professionally, I'm pretty sure that most of you assumed that singing is very easy, that it is anough for ne to open his mouth and let the yone come out of it. Of course, staying in tume should be your primary concern, but actually, singing entails a lot of hard work.

KNOW YOU HAVE IT

There are people that can carry a tune even though they can't sing beautifully. This is what you have to find in yourself. you have the ability if you can hum asong even if you just heard it for the girst time, people don't cover their ears when you try to imitate your favorite singer or your mother encourages you to join an amateur singing contest with her fingers crossed. These are little things can actually help you to know that you have it.

ENROLL IN AMUSIC SCHOOL

Yamaha School for Music,Center for pop Music or if you can afford it, you can hire Mr. Ryan Cayabyab to personall taech you. You can even try to go to your local muisc studio which offers voice lessons if enrolling in the abovementioned schools intimidates. Though they are not as famous as them, you will be surpirsed that music teachers from your place are as equallt good as the professional ones.

SHARE YOUR TALENT

This is important because through this, you could get the good points of another person and vice versa. Trading off your talent will not make you less of a person. you will not lose anything instead you will gain more knowledge.

Joining a choir is one of the best ways to help you share your talent. you will not only meet new friends but also help yourself appreciate music even more> Constant intercation woth other music enthusiasts will encourage you to look far deeply into the benefits that music and singing together can give you. You get to wear fancy dresses if there are competitions and concerts. You get to travel to dofferent places and experience new things. You will also value pieces with an 8-voice arrangement and other classical music. And most of all, you get to experience the exhilarating feeling of being applauded when having a successful performance.

PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT

This maybe an old saying to you, but this is necessary for choir group singers. you shouldn't take this for granted for you colud continue to develop and improve your skills with this.

Attending rehearsals and committing to practices can really be a drag if you're a student. If you're in a university choir, practices may often be as frequent as three days a week plus your weekend. If you're a member of a church choir it is less demanding since it works on the availability of its members and rehearsals are held during weekends. But if you know how to mange your time without sacrificing the other, you could, I should say, have the best of both worlds.

DISCIPLINE YOURSELF

Singing requires a lot of hard work and discipline because if you don't have these you wouldn't be the singer thet you want to be. In achorale group, vocalization is a must. Through this, your vocal chords are stretched so that you can hit the high pitch and get the right note. It includes breathing exercise to help you use your diaphragm when singing. Tucking in your butt is also taught so that hitting higher notes would be easy for you. Avoiding sweets and not drinking cold water after a rigid parctice would also help you maintain a good quality voice.Sweets often leave residues in or throat that can affect our voice. Same goes for cold water which tend to harm our throat after a rigid rehearsal. Yelling and screaming aloud should also be avoided so as not to scratch your throat. Know how to limit the air that you give out so that you can sustain a tune that is to be prolonged.

SING FROM YOUR HEART AND SPIRIT

Once you've learned the entire technical aspects that a singer should know, this one would come out naturally. Just bear in mind that you should internalize what you are singing, what it means, what it tries to say, accompanying it with facial expression would help you to deliver the song with intensity and soul. Do not also forget that you are not singing for yourself but bringing back the talent to the One who has given it to you.
