Ayrton steps from the shadows where he has
been quietly contemplating the earnest endeavors of his
guildmates as they work at intoxication beyond the call
of pukey
they are his mates and he would die in battle with
any of them, but alas, they are so irresponsible on the
morrow after a glorious battle..... "Drunk again, the
lot of you, I sure hope there isnt a orc raiding party
or some such in the nearby forest, cause I would have to
kill them all and amass all the glory unto
myself" Ayrton laughs heartily and slaps the barmaid
on the bottom....(hoping Tajina didnt see
that) Ayrton caresses the Torklars Hammer he won in
the battle of Unrest, and gazes out the window,
imagination intent upon future glories, conquests, and
ultimately, the hand of the lady he holds closest to his
heart in marraige.... A look of determination crosses
over his youthful face as thoughts of his lady intersect
with the battles of his imagination...."It will not be a
forgotten dream, buried in the memories of sages long
dead, I will have all that is rightfully mine" he says
very softly in a voice like cold
steel...... abruptly, Ayrton salutes his friends,
with a wink to Val, and follows Tajina into the
night.....

:: Raises an eyebrow and sobers up at the
sinister sound of Ayrton's cold whisper, unsure if he is
hearing venom or determination. Juggling the
things he is wonderring about not knowing Ayrton's
thought. On one hand if it is Tajina that drew him
out of the shadows, that was determination, on the other
hand if he had a run in wiht a theif or a rogue that he
had no mentioned or any number of other things that
could be trouble. :: Well, I am not sure. If he
just went out that door following Tajina I am sure he
will be honorable. It could be something else
though, if that was to avenge a cutthroat or rogue or
creature of the baser sort, he may be walking out into
more trouble than he can handle. I think I will
follow and be sure my friend is safe. :: Shoves his
unfinished Brandy to the side and quickly gathers his
belongings tightening the straps and fastenings.
Nodding to the rest of his companions he moves
with some haste toward the door. :: If I am not back
shortly send in the rescue party. :: With the
slightest pause,'does he really know about an orc
raiding party that might be massing?' and slips out into
the dark. :: <A short time passes> :: Slams
back in through the doors and bursts openly into
laughter. :: No danger. That was blind
determination. :: Drops his load on the back of the
chair where he was sitting earlier and himself into the
seat. Grabs his brandy. :: It did not take long
to determine that he was following Tajina. He was
so focused on that if an orc raiding party had come,
they would not have been any more distraction than flies
landing on his armor. :: Almost buckling over
with laughter. :: He was so focused he didn't even
know I was behind him, so I took some dye I was carrying
and lightly painted a heart and a cupid arrow on his
back. I had to stop following him though before my
laughter broke his focus. I don't even know if
that will wash out, perhaps that will be his coat of
arms now. :: Slams his brandy glass down after
downing the glass in one swallow. Sputtering out a rasp
laughter mixed with the coughing of impropperly
swallowed brandy. He pushes the glass to the side to
look around at the amusment of his companions, but
notices also a couple eyebrows of pensive thought.::

Ayrton, content in knowing Tajina arrived
at her home safely, follows Xentle back to the
tavern, slips in through the kitchen entrance and
returns to his table in the corner shadowed by the
staircase to the upper floor rooms....(which arent
sounding too bad after the last few days on the
road).
He opens the pouch at his side and digs
out the letter he has read 100 times over, unsigned, so
he still isnt positive of its sender....
It tells
of how he was robbed of his birthright, his families
title and land stripped from them centuries ago, and
about the joining of 2 elven families that, had it taken
place, he would be of a much higher stature than he has
been led to believe is his birthright....but how an
ancient sect of Dark Elves set discord between these
families, so the joining never came to be....It also
implies that these wrongs can be righted, his birthright
reclaimed, that somewhere in Norrath there is the elven
lady that, could her heart be won, these same 2 elven
families could yet be joined, and Ayrton's birthright
would then be revealed....
He folds the letter
and replaces it in his pack....Not knowing whether to
believe this and try to trace the sender or toss in the
fire and live the warrior's life he has always known,
(though he doesnt remember choosing the sword, it is all
he has known)...He glances out of the shadows at Xentle,
choking on his drink or his laughter, perhaps
both....
Ayrton looks up the staircase and
decides to call it a week, yeah, I'll get a room and
rest myself, Tunare knows I dont allow myself near
enough. He stands and quietly begins to remove the
Lockjaw hide tunic he was gifted from Tajina, brushing
some dust from the shoulders he notices a cute little
arrow and heart drawn on the back right between the
shoulder blades... what the? Xentle....so thats what
he was chortling about, choke on it you, Ayrton laughs
to himself, "got to admit he is good, I knew he was
behind me, but didnt know he was drawing on my
back"...Ok so Im not the only one in the guild who is
looking out for his mates, perhaps Xentle is just the
person to help me sort out my own mysterious past?
Ayrton silently salutes Xentle, lays a gold piece on
the table and heads up to find a room and
sleep....

claws. Hi Taj! thanks for the vote of confidence,
I could use it. Do you need any arrows? help
yourself <indicating a large pile spilling out of her
pack>  ::flips
a strand of silken blond hair out of her face and slaps
Xentle's shoulder playfull and giggles:: My hair is
NOT green. YOU are just seeing things because of
all the wine you've had silly ::smiles
at Ayrton's wink and gets up to check the tracks around
the door when Xentle follows the two of them out,
worried for a moment,... then notices that the orcs seem
to have run in fear, knowing that Destructors are about,
and Taj will be getting home just fine... especially
with both Xentle and Ayrton "secretly" escorting her, so
sits back down and pours herself a
drink:: <:mutters into her glass that it must be
nice for Taj, having all those guys chasing after her
and wonders if she is going to be invited to the guild
party or if she is gonna have to hire an escort...

:: Returning a salute to each of the
Ayrton's in front of him, he starts to stand up,
tripping on the leg of his chair falling back into the
seat. Leaning an elbow on the table and resting
his chin in his hand he manages to stop the room from
spinning a little, during a long pause in his thought as
he forces the blur in front of him to stop lurching
around. His eyes focusing again Ayrton is gone
already. He reaches for his glass to quench that
fuzzy feeling in his throat. And closes his eyes
fo rbut a moment. ::
:: The light coming in
through the window awakens him with it's warmth.
He does not know how he got here, but he is in a
bed at the tavern he has rented a few times in the past.
He has spotty memories of the barmaids laughing
and carrying him here. Memory flashes... He sits
up suddenly, blankets falling away looking around...
pillows on both sides looking used, but nobody there
now. He grabs his head thinking .. at least a
pounding from an Aviak stays on the outside. ..
:: Ouch :: he lays back down taking a few
deep breaths and demanding his body come back under
control. With focus he pushed the hangover away.
Sits at the edge of the bed, the distant scent of
wild flowers coming from his own skin. A little
mebarrassed to himself about being bathed and not
remembering it. :: I will not drink that much
again.. :: He mutterred to himself slipping into the
cloting that lay cleaned and folded on the stand at the
side of the bed. He stood up and drank th
ecleansing tonic that had been left on the stand with
his cloths and began his morning workout and practice
routine, perfecting the art of fluent movement and
focused mental discipline. The effects of last
night now gone he finished dressing and equipting his
gear, tossed a platinum on each pillow on both sides of
the bed and then after a pause added 2 coppers to each.
:: Time for breakfast. :: Out the door and
down the stairs. Breakfast filled the plate in
front of the chair that had endured his splurge of self
indulgence not all that many hours earlier. ::
It is going to be a good day. :: He declared to
no one in particular. Nodding to fellow guild
mates as they came or left. :: |

:: Tajina walks into the tavern, holding a
stack of papers, the barkeep holds up a bottle of wine
with a look on his face indicating he is asking her if
she wants a glass. She puts her hand to her head and
with a shudder shakes her head no. :: OH,
Noooo, no more wine for me for a while, but I'll take
some juice any kind so long as it's pulp free and looks
smells tastes nothing like white wine. :: she looks
around the room and heads for the corner of the Tavern
that her guild has taken over for themselves. Sets
the stack of papers down on the first table of the
cluster of tables that has been claimed by the
guild.:: There every one
has to walk past this one to get over here, she say's to
no one in particular. :: she
takes a few of the papers and spreads them out among the
now mostly empty tables that have been overtaken by the
guild handing one to each of the few mates that are
seated around the tavern :: Flyers for
the guild party, she smiles. :: she then
heads for the back table and sets down with an audible
sigh she crosses her arms on the table and rests her
head on them :: M'lady :: she looks up to
see the barkeep standing there, forcing herself to sit
up right, she winces softly as the change in altitude
made her dizzy for a brief moment :: Your juice
m'lady :: the barkeeper sets a glass of berry juice
down where she had been resting her head, she fumbles
through her purse looking for the right amount of coins
to pay for the drink :: Oh, forget it,
here just take this and start me a tab, I'll take care
of the difference at the end of the week. ::
she notices that the barkeep had also sat down a
steaming cup of hot water and a small packet of brown
powder in font of her:: What’s this?
:: she looks at the barkeep
inquisitively:: For the hangover, miss, this
will cure even the worst of them, it's my own
recipe. :: pride showed on the barkeepers face,
Tajina smiled to herself and looked at the barkeep
gratefully :: Thank you and may Tunare
bless you. :: she looked at the powder and
the cup dreading the thought of drinking it, it has been
her experience with remedies such as these that if you
were to take a pair of unwashed smelly old battle boot
and made a tea out of them, it would most probably taste
better. but the barkeeper has a soft heart and is a good
man, after all he puts up with the Destructors with
seemingly no problem at all, she secretly thought he
liked having them there. She looked around the tavern,
it wasn't the classiest place around but it was clean
and the prices were acceptable and the service was good.
With a glance at the barkeep She opened the packet of
powder and mixed it into the water. To her surprise a
sweet flowery sent with a hint of some kind of herb she
couldn't identify rose up from the cup. Just the smell
alone made her feel a little bit better. She wrapped
both hands around the cup and sunk into her chair. She
could feel the warmth of the afternoon sun beating down
in through the window on her back. As she sat sipping
the hot liquid, her mind wondered, thinking of the
events of the last few days, the small battles against
the aviaks and gnolls, playing tag with some Cyclopes, a
smile came to her lips as she thought of how Vertico had
proclaimed his triumph over the clops by removing their
toes, What on Norrath was he gonna do with them any how
? The feeling of being followed last night, she
dismissed that as drunken paranoia, but still.... she
shook off the feeling again. The talk she had with Val
the other night, What WOULD she wear to the party, maybe
her and Val should dress the same, after all, they look
so much alike now that they could pass as twins, she
snickered at the thought, "yeah, that would really
confuse people", and who was I going to the party with.
She hadn’t given any thought to that at all till Val had
asked who was taking her. No one had asked as of yet,
besides she would probably be too busy with the party to
entertain a date. She was far more concerned about
people attending the party then she was about find a
date for it. As she sat there pondering in her mind,
parties, dating, who liked who, couples and marriage,
her thoughts were interrupted as a silhouetted figure
appeared in the door of the tavern she couldn't make out
who it was, friend or foe.... with her guard up she
subtly put her hand on the hilt of her battle hammer,
watching the door and waiting......

[Verdico
Staggers in leaning on the door post for support] Ah
you get some fine days and then some days that don't
quite go as planed LOL. Remind me when i'm higher
leveled that I owe GrimFeathers a long torturous
death. [Plops down in the first seat he can find in
the corner of the tavern and begins the long arduous
task of picking griffon talons from his armor and
cape] [Suddenly Vertico raises an open palm
interscepting a warhammer headed toward him] Hey,
easy there Tajina! Had enough hard times avoiding
death from monsters without you doing their job fo em!

Pulls
out another griffon talon from his armor legging Hey
Valerestra, maybe you can use these talons to make some
good arrows for archery. And about a date, I'm not
sure if I'll have one by the time party rolls around.
But if you still have need of one I'll take ye.
Just not sure if my transport is up to your taste
tho. Nothing fancy.

::a scream of surprise comes from the
middle of the tavern as a streak of blue light shoots
across the room and sticks in the wall sputtering blue
flame and sparks:: ok, so I can make fireworks on my
first try but not bows after months of practice, isn't
that just the way. </sigh> but check these out
aren't they cool! kinda big though, I don't think more
than 8 will fit in my pack. ::picks up a flyer from
the next table and looks at it:: Hey, these are nice
Taj
did you do the design yourself? I'm gonna take a
few to pass out, ok
I still haven't found anyplace that sells nice
dresses though, anyone have a recommendation? ::puts
some flyers in her pack and starts soaking some more
batwings in firewater and preparing metal shafts to be
wrapped:: That's sweet Vert </smile> but I know
you have someone else in mind, you should ask her.
Besides, someone was telling me the most beautiful
poetry to me last night, it was so sweet
<val's cheeks color slightly and a twinkle shines in
her eyes> thanks for the talons, I'll try them
out later  ::starts
wrapping batwings around the rods and puts some more in
to saok::

Ayrton awakens abrubtly from a deep sleep
to a booming sound which is still echoing through his
small room.... Grabbing his hammer he rushes out the
door of the room, takes the stairs in a single
leap...lands in a roll, comes up in a crouch face to
face with Tajina, who is sitting in a chair in the back
of the common room...He notices nobody else is looking
very alarmed, slowly straightens to hos full height, and
glares around the room....seeing Val with that
apologetic (although slightly sarcastic) grin on her
face and a pile of unmade firework materials, answers
all his questions at once... he mutters something
about a fine way to start the day and heads towards the
stairs.
Back in his room, he quickly packs his
things and shoulders his pack...grinning alittle at
Val's wake up call...carefully putting the dark look
back on his face, he heads back downstairs... he
notices everyone talking about dates and sees the flyer
on the table, reading it a grimace crosses his
face...
"Alas, Tajina", he says, "For I have a
journey which I must undertake, the timing is critical,
and I'll not be here when you have your party"

He
accepts the "awww's" and the groans, and catcalls from
the more awake of the guild, with the grace he was born
with, no training in manners of any kind that he could
remember, just the sword, always the sword. And
some innate instinct of honor and how to interact with
anyone, be he king or clown...
He sees Xentle
eating his breakfast and wonders if it would be right of
him to ask Xentle to join him, now that there is a event
which he may prefer to attend, not wanting Xentle to
accept his journey out of a sense of obligation to a
guildmate, he decides to keep his own council on the
letter and details of his journey....
Having
decided this, he gets down to the business of his
breakfast, as if he has no concerns...
Hearing
from the other side of the room, something about a
preference of a date for Tajina? He looks closely
at Tajina, as if for the first time trying to decide how
exactly he feels about her...although knowing the answer
to that as if it was written in the stars, but
remembering the words of the letter he carries, he
sighs, if he is to gain his true birthright, (if such a
thing exists) he must find the truth of this letter, or
prove it basely false and avenge himself on those that
wouls so toy with him....
Seeing no other choice
but to remain with his previous plan, he knows he must
go it alone, but, so it has always been, until Tajina
found him that day and took him from the
slavers, leaving many of them dead and those few
alive wounded beyond fighting....She brought him to her
friends who accepted him as one of their own, no
questions, or mistrust, that he was aware of, and it
wouldnt be warranted anyway, he has always stood with
honor at the side of his guildmates, these
"Destructors", well named if ever a guild was...although
he doesnt feel quite as comfortable as say, Val does, he
assumes that will come with time, for they seem to be
quite a closeknit group, and he does know that good
allies are hard to find, and good friends
harder,.
He stands, shoulders his pack, with a
quick glance at Tajina, he starts for the
door.....

has been met with an acceptance, her name is Pahrumph

She would be much better at this than I ::val

water:: Well, I think I am going to head out for a

Ayrton stops dead in his tracks just
outside the door, he is almost bowled over by a
messenger of some sort, he is so deep in
thought.... "Did Val just say good luck in my
search?" he asks to himself..."What could she know of my
search? I've told nobody about the letter, and told even
less about myself....
Now he feels as if the
mystery is chasing him, not the other way
around....Confused he sits under a huge oak tree, goes
through his pack yet again, finds the letter and begins
to read...
What feels like hours pass, he wonders
if Val could be the one who sent the letter, or knows
who did? "What do I know?", he thinks to himself, "I
probably just heard her wrong".
Looking at the
letter one final time, he notices a small merchants
stamp on the envelope..."Sold to Neriak
Library".
"Finally!! A place to start," he says
aloud, Many thanks Tunare, and many
again".
Feeling better about the prospect of his
search, and knowing Tunare guides him, he starts down
the path toward the main road in town....He doesnt get
20 paces away when..... |

TIMBERRRRRR!!!!!!

Ayrton,
Watch out!!! Falling Hill Giant headed your
way!! [Vertico does a quick incanatation making a
gesture with both index fingers twirling in the
air] [Instantly thick roots come flying up out of the
ground beside Ayrton creating a living hedge of
protection about him deflecting the Hill Giant's
body to one side fo Ayrton instead of on top of
him.]
Sorry those dead bodys can be just as
lethal as the living ones. You ok?? [Gets a nod
from Ayrton.] Anyways more this poor thing is poor as
can be. [pulls out only 3pps from the body]
Must have lost the Giant's poker game. Well
see ya about and hope you find your destiny Ayrton.
[waves bye to his comrade in arms]

:: Stepping back into the tavern after some
fervant business attended he had attended in the market
square by the bank. :: It has been a good
day! :: Looking up Xentle smiles noticing the ring
that sparkles from Valerestra's finger, then turns back

hollars out to the Bartender. The barmaid that
delivers it, sits down for a few moments and they
exchange a few whisperred words before Xentle hands her
a coin pouch. Xentle barely acknowledges the way
she reaches out and caresses his cheek in her palm as
she gets up and heads back to a room behind the bar.
:: Sometimes it is tough to decide which to

gaining new experiences on the fields of questing. ::
Brushing some dust from his clothing he comments.
:: I didn't see who it was, but someone was crazy
enough to lure a Giant into town and drop him in the
streets. :: As he sips on his juice, he notices a
familiar shadow move past the window outside. For
no apparant reason he wonders how Ayrton's quest for his
birthright was going, whatever that might be. The
sound of steel draws his attantion to the door. ::

Tajina sitting in her
usually spot in the tavern smiles to her self as she
thinks back on the happenings of late. Still
feeling a bit embarrassed over her hammer almost finding
it's way into Vertico's head, she would have to do
something really nice for him to make up for that.
She looks over at the small burn spot on the wall
and then notices a few more, this makes her smile even
more, she laughs to herself, " Val " shaking her head.
Her smile slowly fades as she remembers the look
in Ayrton’s eyes when they met hers as he slowly stood
up from rolling down the stairs obviously reacting to
Val's mishap with the fireworks. Tajina wasn't sure how
to take his looks sometimes. They can be so deep
and chilling, sometimes it's as if he is completely in
love with her and other times it 's as if he wished she
was some one else. Still other times it's simply a
look of admiration for an old friend. All in all
she had no idea where she stood with this man besides
good friends, sometimes it's as if he wants to be so
much more then other times it's perfectly clear he only
wants to be friends. “Uhg ! Men !” she whispered
to herself, I'm never gonna figure them out, returning
to her thoughts. All I know for sure is, for now I
am single and I think I like it that way, for now
anyhow. Her thoughts were interrupted as a messenger
runs into the tavern. She watches as he runs to Val and
Val announces that she has found some one to make
fireworks for the party. Tajina smiles broadly.
She wanted to get up and run over and hug Val. She
was so relieved to know that she was tacking care of the
fireworks and very thankful she was on top of it. By
Tunare I hope this party is a success and lots of people
show up, I definitely want to give Val a special thanks
for all her work and effort she has put into it. Tajina
had been so lost in thought she had missed several of
her guild mates come and go. Some ruckus outside barely
registered in her mind. She saw Xentle sitting
there exchanging words with a barmaid. "I hate that
tramp she thought to her self" and stood up and walked
over and sat back down beside Xentle. " You’re an
honorable man Xen, did you ever find out if that boy you
pay for is really yours or not ? You know I warned you
about her way back when you was playing house with
her. Tajina's words were interrupted by the sound of
weapons being drawn just out side the door,

she sees Overit for the first time sitting at the bar,

drink he sure looked like he could use one. She takes a
deep breath and looks back at Xentle and with a nod
indicates she is ready to follow his lead.......
