Mind and Astral Travel

Lie down flat on you back on the floor or a bed. Take your time when recording the script for yourself.

Here is the script (adapted from Astral Travel for Beginners, Richard Webster)

Take a nice deep breath and close your eyes as you exhale. Allow a wave of relaxation to spread throughout your entire body. Take another deep breath and, as you exhale allow the pleasant relaxation to spread to every nerve and fiber of your entire body.

It is so pleasant to relax like this, no cares, no anxieties. Just the pleasant warmth and total relaxation.

As you breathe in again feel the muscles of you feet beginning to relax. All the muscles of your toes to relax more and more with every breath you take. Allow that wonderful relaxation to spread to every part of your feet and up to your ankles, relaxing more than you've relaxed before.

Feel that relaxation as it moves up into your calves and into your knees. It's a wonderful feeling. Nothing need disturb or worry you as you go deeper and deeper into this pleasant relaxation.

Allow the relaxation to move into your thighs now. Feel all that tension dissolve and fade away. It's so pleasant, so tranquil and so relaxing.

Double the relaxation in your legs now and then the relaxation move up into your stomach and into your chest.

Every breath you take makes you feel more and more relaxed, more and more relaxed. It's becoming easier and easier to do with each relaxing breath. Each breath takes you into a deeper and deeper state of total complete relaxation. Feel the relaxation move into your shoulders now, and then slowly drift down each arm to the tips of your fingers. Your hands and fingers are so relaxed now, so loose and limp and lazy.

Allow the relaxation move into your face. Feel the muscles around your eyes relaxing and then let the relaxation move right up to the top of your head, so that every part of your body is totally, completely, absolutely relaxed.

And in this nice, calm, relaxed, peaceful state, picture yourself lying on the bank of a stream. You can hear the water as it gently flows past. You can hear the sounds of birds playing up in the trees, and you can feel the gentle touch of a cooling breeze.

In your mind's eye, see yourself get up and walk slowly alongside the stream, watching a leaf gently floating on the water like a little boar as it gets carried away. Soon you can hear the sound of a waterfall and as you round a bend you see it straight ahead.

Beside it are ten wooden steps leading down to a large, smooth rock below. you place your hand on the handrail and start to go down steps. A funny thing happens. With each step you take , you double the relaxation, so that by the time you get down to that large, sun drenched rock you'll be ten times more relaxed than you are now, totally, absolutely relaxed in every part of you mind, body and spirit.

Ten: Moving down gently, doubling your relaxation.

Nine: Another step, and your relaxation doubles yet again.

Eight: Moving down gently, feeling the gentle spray of the waterfall as you double your relaxation once more.

Seven: Even further now into complete and total relaxation.

Six:  Drifting and floating into total relaxation.

Five: halfway down and feeling as relaxed as a loose, limp rag doll.

Four Three Two and one. Deeper and deeper and deeper into total and complete relaxation.

Feel yourself step unto the nice warm rock and lie down on its smooth surface. relaxed. Relaxed. Relaxed and so peaceful. Total, complete, absolute relaxation throughout every part of your body.

(Stop talking and let the tape run blank for at least 10 minutes) Now visualize yourself in another room in the house and look around.. Do not rush this part as you want to verify findings later. Be aware of everything, smell, temperature and items.. Be aware of your breathing and any sounds you hear.

(Start talking again)

You are going to return now, back to the present, as you count from one to five. You will feel relaxed, happy and full of energy. Totally restored and invigorated in mind, body and spirit.

One, Feel the energy returning to your body.

Two. Feeling wonderful in every possible way.

Three. Becoming aware of your surroundings and remembering absolutely everything that happened in the mind projection.

Four. Feeling better than you've felt in ages.

And five. Eyes opening and feeling wonderful.

(Stop taping)

Start with rooms in your home and then go outside or visit other places. Visit a friend and then call them. They may have just been thinking about you. Mentally touch a person and see it in the visualization. It may take several attempts to get to this stage but don't give up. It takes time to get good at this so don't give up.
