ALEXANDER
Reedsville, Pennsylvania
Jesse Jr. (my grandfather)  was born in this house in Honey Brook Reedsville.   So were my uncle Jesse "Bob" and mother Gloria Alexander.  My grandparents lived on the left and Beulah lived where my son, Ross is standing.  Many times Kish creek, which is right across the road, would over flow it's banks and come into the basement.
After Beulah died, my grandmother opened Alexander's store  on the side where Ross is standing.  My grandparents lived in the other side.  They rented the upstairs above the store to the family shown below in the 1950's.  I don't know who Marg is holding but her children are Jim and Shirley in front of her.
Years  after Jesse Jr. died, my grandmother closed the store and later got remarried.  She left most of her belongings including all of Jesse's clothing just as he left them and moved into the home of Paul Kauffman  (her new husband) in Burnham.
The store side was rented to Marg.  The house was left empty on my grandmother's side for over 30 years.  After she died, we found many antiques including Beulah's china closet shown below which is now in my formal living room.     My grandmother did not want to sell the house because it contained her memories.  The new owners have since fixed it up to it's former state of repair.  When my grandmother lived in the house, it was constanty maintained and painted.
