| Mrs. J.W. Fike passed away this morining, 2:39 0'clock at her home, 56 Valley Street. She suffered the past four or five years from failing health due to kidney trouble. Her maiden name was Goldie Harkins of Altoona and she leaves her husband and five children: Silver May, John Russell, Robert Dale, Bertha Viola and Merle aged respectfully 16, 14, 12, 8 and 4 years and her mother Mrs. Mary Molson of 223 West Third Street and one half brother, William Weaver of Altoona, a half sister Mrs. Harry Cramer of Pittsburg and a sister Mrs. Merle Geist of Woodland Lewistown Narrows. No funeral arrangements have been made. |

| John W. Fike, 86, 600 Knepp Avel, died in the Lewistown Hospital Thrusday evening at 8:35 o'clock. Mr. Fike was born in Juniata County on Aug 22, 1876, a son of the late Jacob A. and Catherine Stimling Fike. He was twice married, first to the former Goldie Harkins who died in 1919, then to the former Lillie Kern, sho died in 1935. Children surviving are: Mrs. John (Silver) Stringer of Spring Mills, Mrs. Paul (Bertha) Kauffman of Burnham; Merrell Fike of New York City, Mrs. Russell (Betty) Myers, 600 Knepp Ave, and Mrs. Harry (Irene) Decker of Baltimore Md. The following step-children survive: Paul K. Shiverly of Harrisburg; Mrs. Ernest (Mary) Stewart of Glenwood, Mrs Carl (Marjorie) Riddell and William E. Shively of Orlando, Florida and Arthur F. Shively of York. Two brothers and a sister, Cloyd E. Fike, 6 Feeder Ave: Walter A. Fike of Fudel, Iowa; and Mrs. Walter (Mary) Dunn of McAlisterville, survive. Thrity-two grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren are living. Mr. Fike was an electrician by trade and operated Fikes Electrical Company for 18 years. He attended the Calvary Bible Church. Services will be held in the Barr Funeral home Monday afternoon at 2 0'clock. In charge of the Rev. Ralph Norwood. Burial will be made in the Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock. |
