Rank and Renown Charts |
Earning Renown from actions can be gleaned from the Renown Awards Chart, which is on page 177 & 178 of the Laws of the Wild: Revised. ? Temporary traits are easily gained or lost over time. Ten temporary traits can be converted into a single permanent trait. ? Typically a Rite of Accomplishment is needed to bestow a permanent Renown Trait. Awarding Renown will be handled by the Storytellers and Players. Character sheets will be updated with temporary or permanent renown Traits. At the next game's Moot, each pack's Galliard and/or elder Galliard who is the chosen Talesinger will tell the tales of their fellow Garou. A Moot will always tell the tales of the previous game's Renown-worthy actions. This is the role-playing aspect of the Renown system. After the tales have been sung, and the Moot is over, various Rites should occur as befitting the renown granted, such as Rite of Accomplishment or Rite of Wounding. We encourage that Renown awards be role-played at a Moot as this is an important aspect of Garou culture. As a troupe, we should emphasize the role-playing aspect of each portion of a Moot as best we can. Many Auspices play an important role in a Moot and to gloss over this important part of Garou life cheapens their presence and position. If time permits, we should play out a Moot to its fullest. ? Between games, players who feel that their actions have gone unnoticed, and wish to appeal to the spirits will submit 3 Actions worthy of Renown via email to the head Storyteller. Give a brief description of the action and any who were involved or could bear witness to it. This indicates that your character is actively trying to get his deed recognized, and is in the umbra talking to any spirit that will sit still long enough to hear their tale. Make sure you are actually worthy of renown by reading the book, because if you aren’t you might just advertise that you are an idiot. ? Send All Renown actions to thewylddreamST@aol.com ? We will judge which Renown will be awarded or lost. We may award or subtract extra renown for actions we feel were noteworthy during a game. This would be for actions not of the 3 submitted by a player for that game. (Like if we catch something cool that you didn’t.) ? Likewise, players are encouraged to mention any Renown actions worthy of an award or loss of other players, but don't overdo it. ? We will compile a note card to give to each pack Galliard or the Elder Galliard to read during the Stories and Songs portion of the Moot. |
