Willpower Willpower describes a characters ability to overcome temptation, their strength of character, and their sense of self. Willpower has many uses. Its primary uses are listed below. In this game you can use one temporary willpower point to: · Fuel a difficult gift or cantrip. · Negate the effects of frenzy for one hour or one particularly trying scene. (By using willpower you can tolerate things that would normally cause you to frenzy. Call it patience in pill form.) · Gain automatic success in any Simple Test or Static Challenge · Replenish lost traits in any one category. (Physical, Social or Mental.) Only once per catergory per game. ? A StoryTeller may allow you to suppress a derangement by spending one willpower trait. This suppression usually lasts one scene/hour, whichever comes first. · Ignore the side effects of wounds, such as incapacitation for one challenge. (That is one willpower per challenge kids.) · Negate the effects of any social or mental challenge. i.e. It gives you a retest. This includes arts, and mental gifts. You must declare this before the challenge is decided. (Once you stop the challenge [walk away ect.] it is over and you cannot then declare, “Oh I have willpower!” You must also be the defender. Sorry challengers… you want to push people around I suggest getting helpful Abilities like intimidation, investigation, vamp, seduction, subterfuge and so on to use for retests.) Defenders don’t use this lightly I don’t give out much willpower. · Changelings use one point of temporary willpower and three days of rest to heal one health level of aggravated damage chimerical or normal. · Changelings can call upon the Wyrd by using one trait of willpower and one glamour. (i.e. They force their fae selves into the real world for a time, this includes chimera, chimerical clothing, and yes WEAPONS!! The Cheesy should beware. This means any damage from chimerical sources cause damage to the normal self for as long as you are wyrded. ) · Dolorous Blow =Changelings can use two temporary willpower to change a chimerical weapon, and only that object real for one challenge. A chimerical ax would do real damage for one blow (unless using the Primal art Quicksilver in conjunction with Fae, then it lasts until the last blow of the of the turn, and disappears at the turns end). Note you must have at least three levels of Germayre to even know bout this ability let alone use it. Your total willpower points are represented on your character sheet. Signing In= You get one temporary willpower point for signing in at the beginning of the game. The willpower trait will be awarded at the end of the game. If you don’t attend the game, if you forget to sign in no willpower. It is as simple as that. Playing your Legacy, Nature/Demeanor, Auspice, Flaws, Derangement/s and Negative Trait/s= Playing your Legacy, Nature/Demeanor, Auspice, Flaws, Derangement/s and Negative Trait/s in a consistent and accurate manner (in other words, damn good role-playing) can lead to a willpower award of one trait for the game in question. Oaths = Some oaths may grant temporary willpower. Oaths are very serious business. Every changeling, heck every person should realize that if you break your oath there will be very serious, (pay attention I said VERY SERIOUS) consequences. I strongly recommend NEVER taking an oath without sleeping on it. If it simply cannot wait, then it is probably a bad idea. Resting in a Freehold= One point of glamour or willpower is received for each night of rest in a freehold. You must choose one or the other. That means eight hours of uninterrupted sleep in a freehold can allow you to regain one willpower point. This option is Changelings only sorry. YOU LORDS AND LADIES IN THE NAME OF THE DREAMING HAVE THE SENSE TO CHARGE PEOPLE FOR STAYING IN YOUR FREEHOLD!! FREEHOLDS ARE VERY RARE! OWNERS OF FREEHOLDS HAVE THE POWER! (Charge a great deal and with impudence. The freehold is the only way people can easily access glamour and willpower. Your control over freehold/s is the only thing that truly separates you from the common folk.) |
