With 3 wins already under their belt, ThickEdge were full of confidence for their 4th game of the season. Things did not start off to well however with Spally and Dave going into open for the 2nd week in a row, they could only manage 13 runs with both batters struggling with the tight paced bowling attack. Mark and 1st gamer Med came into try and rectify the innings and Mark put in possibly 1 of his best batting performances in the ThickEdge colors. In a match turning partnership of 34, Mark contributed a massive 29 runs. Brendan and Will came in to finish off the innings and did the job solidly putting on 27 to give the team a total of 74 runs.
Our efforts in the field this season had been quite spectacular to say the least but in the first 4 overs of this innings you could have been forgiven for mistaking us for 2 Dogs Blue! After a typically tight opener by Dave, things fell away slightly with frustrations coming to a head at the end of the pair with Brendan unappreciatingly getting hit for 4 to give their openers a start of 26, which resulted in Brendan having a few choice words with the batter and the batter not taking too kindly to this continued on the discussion. This confrontation seemed to spark a bit of action into the team though, with the man of the moment Mark starting the next pair off with a -3 over and 1st gamer Med doing an awesome job with conceding 0 runs off his over the game had once again turned in our favour. The 2nd pair went on to score 18, leaving the final pair to chase the 31 more needed for victory. The result was put beyond doubt with the first over of the pair with Spally taking 3/-8. With the heat gone out of the game there was no more of the confrontational aspect until after the game when the stupid pakis were slightly reluctant to shake the hands of the better team.
4 wins in a row now for the team to put them off to their best start to a season ever.
