| Here's the VW bug that we picked up at the junkyard for $100. Doesn't look too good but it runs great. |
| We also picked up this body from a guy that lives beside some land that we just bought. It was practically sitting on our land. He sold it to us for $75. Project total so far is $175.........not bad! |
| After a few hours of cutting wires and taking out bolts the body finally let loose. The only bad thing is that the chassis is too long for the body and the floor pan is 50% rust and the other50% is holes. We plan on fixing both when we buy a new set of floor pans and shorten everything by about 14 inches. |

| August 2001 |
| We finally took the big step. We cut 14 1/4 inches out of the chassis. All the cables, the gas line and the brake line that run through the middle of the car all had to be shortened. The rod that connects the transmision to the shifter also had to be shortened. |
| We built our own floor boards out of metal that was given to us. We had some floor braces and floor pans made by a family friend of ours |
| October 2001 |
| After everything was cut and ready, all that was left was to square everthing up and weld it in place. We reinforced the chassis with some extra metal that we had laying around. |

| Here is one of the four rims and tires that I picked up at a yardsale for $40. No tires for the front yet but these fat tires will raise the back up nicely. As you can see I also painted the drums red. |
| Decided to spray paint the body yellow for now. Not a bad job for about 12 cans of paint. |

| Changed the brakes and finally got the back wheels on. This is basically what the buggy is going to look like minus the windshield and racing seats. |
