This has gotta be one of the best, where Ebony shows her true feelings and Bray is well harsh!!
[So here’s the scene, Ebony and Bray are walking through a deserted park. Bray’s fairly confident and is looking around for the ‘informer’ they’ve come to meet. Ebony’s looking nervous and unsure, she keeps looking around to check no ones there.]
Bray: Anything wrong Ebony?
Ebony: No! No, I guess I’m just a bit nervous, that’s all.
Bray: Nervous? That’s not like you.
Ebony: Yeah well maybe I’m not as hard and ruthless as I used to be. Or hadn’t or noticed
[cut to other scenes]
Bray: So… er… where is he, this informer?
Ebony: I don’t know- he should have been here by now!
Bray: Well who is he Ebony? Which Tribe?
Ebony: I can’t remember.
Bray: [smiling, as if saying ‘oh really’] You can’t remember…
Ebony: Well maybe it was the Demon Dogs or maybe…
Bray: Look, Ebony, its time you told me what’s really going on here.
Ebony: This is very hard for me Bray. I had to bring you here to tell you. I couldn’t risk anyone else seeing us like this.
Bray: So there’s no informer?
Ebony: No. Bray! Bray, please! This is important. More important than anything else.
[Bray is shifting from foot to foot, obviously wanting to go]
Ebony: I’ve been thinking about what to say when this moment came and… and… now its all gone out of my head.
Bray: So just say whatever it is you have to say.
Ebony: I love you Bray. There, I’ve said it. I can’t help it- it’s stronger than I am!
[Bray’s still shuffling and looking at his feet]
Ebony: Look at me. It’s true what I said, I’m not the same person I used to be. The things I wanted- they don’t even matter to me anymore. Its you I want Bray. I love you. I’m yours Bray…[she moves closer and puts her hand on his cheek] body, heart and soul. My life is in your hands.
[cut to other scenes]
[He’s shaking his head]
Ebony: Bray- say something please!
Bray: No Ebony. This is just another one of you games, one of the tricks you play.
[He grabs her by the arms and shakes her]
Bray: What is it this time?
Ebony: What? What do you mean?
Bray: Were you gonna sound me out just like you wanted with Trudy? Or have me killed like you wanted with Tai-san? Who is it? Are the Chosen back? Tell me!!
Ebony: No, it’s the truth Bray, I swear it!
Bray: You wouldn’t know the truth if it came up and kicked you teeth in! This is just another one of your mind games.
Ebony: I love you Bray! You have to believe me!
Bray: No. I don’t. You’ve lied too often and for too long.
Ebony: Doesn’t the past mean anything to you? What we once had?
Bray: [exasperated] We never had anything!
Ebony: Bray, you can’t deny it! I felt it again last night, you and me.
Bray: Stop it!
Ebony: There’s only one good thing in my life, Bray; you. I need to learn how to love, I will and I.. I can! I know that!
[He shakes his head]
Bray: Not with me.
Ebony: I know I’ve hurt people, I’ve used them But that was because I never had anyone. You have no idea what being honest with you is doing to me, how hard this is for me.
Bray: No, Ebony, you’re right. I have no idea and I don’t care.
Ebony: Bray! [she’s crying] I’m begging you!
Bray: To what? To tell you how scheming, how manipulative, how totally heartless you are?! Believe me Ebony, this, this comes from the heart- that’s no more than you deserve.
[He walks off and Ebony collapses to the ground in tears]
