The first of the three harvest festivals.  The sun begins to lose its strength as the days grow longer, as does the God.  The Goddess is aware that the God is dying yet lives on in her as her unborn child.

Sabbat Deities: Lugh, Demeter, Ceres and other deities associated with agriculture.

Colours:  Orange.

Herbs:  aloes, cyclamen, hollyhock, myrtle, oak leaves, sunflower, wheat.

Altar Decorations: corn dollies, freshly baked bread, newly cut wheat.

Traditions:  baking of bread, harvesting herbs for the year ahead.

Magick: letting go, spiritual marriage, priesthood, divorce.
