Yule is a day of darkness and the longest night of the year.  A time when the waxing sun overcomes the waning sun.  Many witches light candles or bonfires to welcome back the sun's light.  Traditionally, it is the time when the God is reborn.  Today, it serves to remind us that the ultimate product of death is rebirth.
Sabbat Deities:  Lucina, Frey, Attis, Dionysus and Odin.
Colours:  red, green, silver, gold and white.
Herbs: holly, mistletoe, ivy, frankincense, moss sage, cedar, bay, juniper, rosemary and pine.  Also, apples, oranges, nutmegs, lemons and cinnamon sticks.
Traditions:  burning a yule log, making wreaths of holly etc.
Altar Decorations: an evergreen tree that can be replanted, golden apples, holly and mistletoe, sparkling crystals and candles.
Magick: celebration, magick for a child's health or to conceive.
