Thomas Jefferson Mensa covers the middle section of Virginia. The major cities included in this area are Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Roanoke, Lynchburg, Staunton, Blacksburg, Salem, and Danville. In the terms of American Mensa classification, we are Group 227 of the Middle Atlantic Region (a.k.a. Region 2). Our group was founded in 1960. Our monthly publication, Sally Hemings Memorial Newsletter, now is also available online in .pdf format at the American Mensa and the Region 2 website (login required at both). As of March 31, 2009 we had  213 members.
