What's New..

Luckily, I finally find a way out in New York City. I will intern with International Crisis Group (ICG) for six months. I will do some research under the Director of Asia Program. I guess I will spend most of the time to do Cross-Straits Relations. However, the most exciting thing of this job is the opportunities of attending UN meeting! As many of you know, MUN is one of the most important part of my college life. Now I will finally be able to go to the REAL UN meeting! Anyway, I sincerely welcome each one of you coming to NYC. Hope to see you guys there!

Today is Taiwan's legislative election day. Thank God KMT and its allies won a legislative majority of 114 seats (225 in total). However, it is pity that many excellent and educated candidates  were not elected. And  I do worry that the polarization in the island is exacerbated. Anyways, hope KMT, PFP, and NP can finally integrate into one party and Chen could learn to be humble to work with the opposition parties. It is time to try Cohabitation!!

Every year, there are so many "big" movies released around thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. As a movie lover, I am busy catching these movies. Since some of my friends requested, I rate some movies that I have seen lately. If you don't have time as much as do, the following rating and brief comments are for your reference.

The Incredibles ««««¶ This film give us another perspective to see super  heroes. As I always said, Pixar can't go wrong.

Alfie  «««¶¶ With little educative messages, Jude Law 's gorgeous looks and natural performance remain impressive.

Closer «««¶¶  It is apparently a movie adapted from stage plays. However, the cast and their acting can somehow make it up to the story which is with not much excitements.

Alexander «««¶¶ I admire Oliver Stone's ambitions to reinterpret Alexander the Great as a leader of the moment. But that is a goal too difficult to achieve. This film's attempt might not be able to satisfy those who know this epic history well. And it is too long to attract those who are not so familiar with the historic background.

Diarios de motocicleta (Motorcycle Diaries) «««««  I am not fond of commy. But I do admire Che Guevara's conscious, compassion, and dedication toward his fellow-latinamerican. These affections are full of this film, and anyone will be moved. I had a great journey of exploring Latin-America with Che and Alberto. I highly recommend this movie!!

Ocean's Twelve «««¶¶ Has even more amazing cast than Ocean's Eleven. Funny and witty, I did have many laughs when I saw it. However, the fragments make the story disjointed. There is no much left after I stepped out of the theater.

One month later is going to be the presidential election. As many of you know, this is my first time to exercise my civil rights. And yes, I am going to vote for John F. Kerry. Some of you might ask why for Kerry? My reasons are quite simple. For a more healthy international society and sound multilateral mechanism, Americans shall be conscious that the US has to stop acting like a unilateral imperialism. We have to show the reflection of disagreeing with Bush administration fighting an illegal and unjust war against Iraq...Oh, FYI, that Kerry's campaign slogan did got me too. "Strong at home, respected in the world."

Now it is the time that the race has narrowed to a struggle over only few states. To be honest, I don't think Kerry's situation is that optimistic. According to recent poll results, it seems that again the outcome could come down to Florida. And I suddenly realize that I should have registered as a voter in Washington. Either California or Illinois seem to be pretty solid for Kerry, which means my vote is less decisive in these States. Also, the upcoming three presidential debates are becoming critical. I do hope Sen. Kerry could stamp himself in undecided voters' mind as a reliable leader.

Well, nothing happen to me yet.. The only thing obvious is as you can see...my website is finally born...Oh, there is only one small excitement recently, that is, I had dinner with two beautiful hostesses of one of the most popular political talk show in Taiwan! I believe most of you can tell who they are.
