Straddling the Cape Cod Canal, Bourne is the gateway to "the Cape" and along with the towns of Falmouth, Mashpee and Sandwich is situated in an area known as the "Upper Cape". The town of Bourne includes Buzzard's Bay, Cataumet, Otis A.F.B., Pocasset and Sagamore with a total year round population of 16,000. Bourne is a good choice for those interested in beaches with calmer waters, bike riding and/or a location with easy accessability to a number of areas.
