Provincetown
Provincetown (pop. 4,000), known locally as "P-town" is an unforgettable town. Its narrow, vibrant streets offer a cosmopolitan mix of people, restaurants and stores. The harbor is bustling with fishing boats and whale watches and the dunes and beaches beckon people with bike trails and romantic sunsets. The Pilgrims landed here first and then traveled across the Bay to Plymouth in search of fresh water. Provincetown today is a thriving artist's colony with a large gay and lesbian population.
