Continuing with the news, apart from helping "Best Buddies" with her pendant design, Thora is supporting the "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals" (PETA) organization, she recently (as of Winter 2001) unveiled PETA's new sticker and billboard declaring, “Proud to Be a Vegetarian American.” So, I guess she is a vegetarian :) Of course I am not confirming but I think this says it. The Warner site recently released a brief summary of the show which reads as follows: "After travelling to the future and finding out a metheor (is this spelled right?) will destroy Earth, a woman promises to live better".

I just found out from play247.com that The Hole UK DVD, to be released in a normal price on March 25, will have SPECIAL FEATURES!!!!! They are pretty much the same features that will come on the french DVD, but there are some additions in this UK DVD: It will feature a director's commentary, two trailers, DELETED SCENES, alternate beginnings, audio description, and filmographies!!!!!!
Continuing with The Hole DVD, remember the mystery on the aussie The Hole DVD? Well, I recently read a post
at a rottentomatoes.com forum dedicated to The Hole in which the aussie release of the film in DVD is confirmed yet again, I wonder why no aussie online store lists it, maybe it is being rented only right now, that must be it I guess.
Unfortunately, as you all must know by now, Thora did not win the Golden Globe :(, but that DOES NOT mean she didn't get recognition, the nomination by itself named her one of the best actresses of the year, and it was a very special moment to see Thora's wonderful work finally being recognized like that. If you paid attention, Thora was wearing a beautiful star-shaped silver pendant, and guess what? As reported by thora.org
Thora actually designed that pendant in the name of riendship!!!!!!! And she did it for a wonderful cause, to help an organization called "Best Buddies", which helps people with mental retardation. Proceeds on the winning bid on the necklace she designed will go to Best Buddies after it is auctioned at Sotheby's on February 12. The clip features lots of clips ( yes, it sounds repetitive, :) ), including a bit of Thora at that Vanity Fair Oscars 2001 party, a very funny Ghost World clip, some other Ghost World bits and an interview regarding Ghost World. The clip is available in Quicktime format and Real Player format and there are 2 versions of the Quicktime format, one is about 2 MB and the other is about 4 MB. I've got tons of stuff on The Hole today, so let's get started!
The Hole will be hitting international stores worldwide this year, and places like Italy, France and the UK (yes UK people, you read it right!) have the next couple of months to look forward for The Hole.
The Hole DVD will be released in Italy (Region 2) on February 5 2002!!!!! Even before the French DVD!!!!!!!!! Now for the UK fans, The Hole will be released on a normal non-rental price on March 25, 2002!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And while it won't have any special features either, blockbuster.co.uk and play247.com are offering it on a very low price, play247.com offers the DVD for £13.99 and Blockbuster.co.uk offers the DVD for £14.99 and the VHS (PAL format) for £7.99!!!!!!!!!!!!! Changing country, The Hole has apparently been released on DVD by now in Germany, although it has a high price (EUR 101,99
DM 199,48), probably rental price I guess, but it is highly probable the price lowers after a couple of months, as it did in the UK.

Now changing continent, The Hole apparently got a "direct-to-video and DVD" release in Australia on January 9, as reported by BZINE , but, several online aussie stores don't even list it as being on pre-order or anything, so that date was probably wrong, on the other hand, maybe the release date they announced was for New Zealand, who knows, the only online aussie store which lists The Hole is dstore.com.au , which lists the film as being "no longer available", but it can mean 2 things, either they ran out of stock or it hasn't been released yet because it's practically impossible for a "just-released film" to get discontinued. The DVD is region 4 (suitable for Australia, New Zealand and Mexico, although it is not being sold here in Mexico yet), the aussie rating for the film is "MA15+" and the listed special features are: Interactive Menus, Scene Access and Theatrical Trailer. Canada and Mexico will probably get the DVD and/or VHS by April or later, The Hole was released the same day (October 26, 2001) in theaters in Canada and Mexico.
That's about it for the DVD release dates, but lots of theaters around the world are getting The Hole, so let's get started.
On Asia, The Hole has been released in Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan, and both Korea and Taiwan have sites dedicated to The Hole, I am not sure if the one from Taiwan is official, but the Korea one sure is. Now changing continent, I just found out The Hole was released in Argentina in November 6 under the title "The Hole - En Lo Profundo", unfortunately, there's no The Hole site from Argentina.
Now onto what US fans are dying for, the US release of the film, as you probably know The Hole was recently picked up for distribution by Miramax's Dimension Films but there's no news yet on a release date, it is still unknown whether the film will get a theater release or just a "direct-to-video and/or DVD" release, but I recently found an aussie site listing The Hole to be released on March 9, 2001 in the UNITED STATES, but it is listed under "Unscheduled or Tentative Movie Releases" so it's likely to be untrue

Now for the most exciting one, I also found one BEHIND THE SCENES clip from The Hole!!!!!!! Something we really had never seen before!!!!!!!!!!!!! It features the filming of several scenes, some inside "the hole", some outside, all put together with the eerie main theme from the film, and there's lots of Thora!!!!!! Check it out here!!!!!! .

Happy new year everyone!! We're back with the news!
Well, first of all, The Hole is set to hit the french DVD and Video market on February 20 according to amazon.fr , although another online store lists it as to be released on February 18. The exciting thing about this is that this time, contrary to the UK version of the DVD and VHS, the film will be on sale at a reasonable and normal price (EUR 25,89
169,83 FF), and the DVD has some cool special features, if my french doesn't betray me, the DVD will feature trailers, DELETED SCENES, filmmaker's commentary, and filmographies!!!!!!!, check it out for yourself!!! .
On other news, the IMDB recently reported that there are rumors about Thora and American Beauty co-star Wes Bentley to star in Nicolas Cage's directorial debut "Pony Rides", a drama based on the true story of a man who inherits the family business - prostitution - and services rich women until an unlikely younger woman saves him. It is understood that finance is not yet is in place for the project, but Nicolas Cage has been scouting locations in New Orleans anyways. Don't forget we have a NEW GHOST WORLD image EVERY DAY!!!! Returning to The Hole, nd10703, founder of a Thora Birch Yahoo Club found 4 clips from The Hole in Real Player format, the first is an interview different from the one at the official site but done the same day, in it, Thora talks about the boarding school issue and some other stuff. The second clip is the complete opening scene, the third clip is an early scene from the movie in which Thora starts to talk to psychologist Philippa Horwood (Embeth Davidtz) and the fourth clip has Thora talking about Brabourne (the boarding school).
