Middle Class shopkeeper of the old store knew every product because he ordered each item and stocked the shelves himself. No Middle Class in the new store, a national chain owned by global investors hiding in suburban McMansions thousands of miles away. Each store in this national chain is run by the dumbest teenagers you ever met, minimum wage slaves who answer every question with “Dunno senor!” No one knows their own products or has any reason to care. Each local store buyout is a mini-conquest, like British East India Company conquering India one village at a time: Imperialism renders workers as slaves as all profits are sucked out of the local economy to benefit a few faceless aristocrats thousands of miles away. The New Economy is based on Imperialism: Your local bank run by Middle Class managers gets bought by Bank of America, a global bank run by teenage minimum wage slaves. Your alternative radio station gets bought by Rightwing Jesus Cultist Clear Channel and converted to Hot Pop Jesus Country. Your local newspaper gets bought by Rupert Murdoch’s Newsday and converted to McNews. Your jobs, news, music and even intellect are slowly being colonized by imperial corporations. Once corporations take over, your Quality of Life collapses: Quality of Life collapsed for India’s farmers when East India Company claimed all profit on cotton, silk, tea, opium, salt and spices. The most colonized nations of Africa are still retarded and miserable. Japan and China fought off Western Imperialism so they remain robust. Imperial corporations are vampire parasites that sicken and weaken their victims. Corporations lobby and bribe Congress to such extremes that Democrats and Republicans are now just one Big Business Party Ralph Nader calls the “Demopublicans.” Progress is impossible when Congress is wholly owned by global corporations: As long as politicians are forced to raise millions for election campaigns, they will continue to be bought by corporate lobbyists. These global corporations are the worst enemies of Public Interest. Public Campaign Finance is the solution: Replace private campaign finance and private electronic ballot boxes with public finance and public paper ballots. Stock investors buy stock of only the most ruthless corporations that bust unions, abuse workers, pollute ecosystems, destroy communities and form monopolies to destroy competitors. Investors dump stock of any company attempting less profitable reforms. Insatiable demand to maximize profit collapses your community and your planet and your Quality of Life in a global Rat Race to the bottom. Ask any CEO who he reports to: “I report to our investors.” Senior executives do only what they think amoral investors want done. As long as a corporation is publicly traded, it is forced by amoral investors to maximize profit by any means necessary, even as it collapses your community and your planet and your Quality of Life. Anything that does not bring profit is called Market Failure: Wilderness, nature parks, greenbelts, clean air and water, public transit, public schools, public hospitals, healthy sustainable community, every aspect of your Quality of Life written off as Market Failure. Corporate jobs today totally suck: Lousy pay, abusive boss, terrible working conditions. Workers are stuck in tedious slave jobs in windowless basement cubicles being yelled at by abusive female supervisors. No empowerment. No freedom. Every aspect of your job determined by faceless aristocrats hiding in suburban McMansions thousands of miles away. Show up one morning and find yourself locked out, outsourced without notice. Pinkerton goons escort you off campus, confiscate your ID badge and toss you your final paycheck. Only reward for faithful service: You lose your health insurance. George Orwell described the modern corporate worker in ANIMAL FARM as Boxer the Horse: Hardworking, strong, loyal, competent, industrious Boxer the Horse assumes hard work always pays off. How do the pigs reward Boxer the Horse? They kill him by working him to death. Why bother working? Does hard work pay off? How many dishes do you have to wash, how many work orders must you complete, how many hours of cubicle slavery wins your 10,000 sq ft ten-bedroom mansion on a ten acre horse ranch hidden on a cul-de-sac on your own private road? Today anyone who works for a living is a Punk Chump Fool: Hard work brings no reward. The clever do no work but get rich by exploiting the clueless. American Nouveau Riche Petite Bourgeoisie are no different than Idle Rich Landed Gentry in Victorian England. Same ethic: WORK IS FOR SLAVES. A few decades ago, one man could support his wife and kids, pay for a big house and car, and send his kids to college just by working any kind of management job. Today mid-manager jobs pay so low that both husband and wife must work to pay for kids, and even with two incomes, many cannot afford a house or college tuition. Look at today’s corporate workforce: Mostly female. Investors do not want workers who question authority, so they hire only welfare-to-work single moms whose education stopped at Community College Associates Degree. These illiterate dullards do not question authority, do not read books, never even heard of Karl Marx. Intellectuals familiar with the Marxist Theory of Surplus Value are never hired. Adam Smith warned capitalists want workers “as stupid and ignorant as it is possible for a human being to become.” Dumbing down of public schools and pop culture and news media is an attempt of the Property Class to control the public mind, to render workers illiterate, clueless, disempowered, unquestioning, voiceless slaves, barnyard animals able only to mumble clicks and grunts. Look at corporations in black ghettos: Executives are mostly white, and workers mostly female. Black males are missing from the workforce. Global corporations dismiss black males as too uppity to accept corporate slavery. Black unemployment is double white unemployment, and among blacks, male unemployment is double female unemployment. Black male unemployment hovers near 50%. Perhaps half the black male population is unemployed not because they are uppity negroes, but because they instinctively understand these corporate jobs are merely the same imperialist plantation slavery they been fighting against for five centuries. Be a Free Man and make good money selling crack. Or be a corporate slave making minimum wage stuck in a tedious slave job in a windowless basement cubicle being yelled at by an abusive female supervisor. I’ll take crack-slinga any day: Be free, live fast, die young. Wage slavery is a living death. Only a Punk Chump Fool would be a slave for a Global Corporate Imperialist Cracker. Real Men may soon be rendered obsolete as horses, oxen and steam locomotives: As muscle jobs get replaced by robots, as shopkeepers get bought out by national chains, as it gets progressively harder to be a Real Man, a Husband, a Provider, Real Men will continue to be eliminated from the workforce, replaced by dull, illiterate, uneducated, unquestioning, unimaginative, obese bovine females happy to slave for half their living wage.
