Thorrington has a modern 40' Abseil and Climbing Tower. This has both 20' and 40' climbs and abseil faces and can cater for all ages from Cubs to fellowship members.
Sessions are usually booked by the hour and are prefferred on Sundays when it is easier to get people to staff the tower. Please note we cannot use the tower in the rain for safety reasons.
The bouldering hut now provides an INDOOR climbing facility that can be used all weathers and even at night (so can be used as a troop/unit night activity).

Thorrington has a small assault couse near to the main buildings. It has been designed to be usable for young people of 8 upwards, so those younger may find some of the obsticles difficult.
Thorrington has a number of low power mini indoor crossbows. These are small plastic crossbows that fire small plastic darts with rubber suckers. These have a range of only a few metres and can be safely used with normal leader supervision.
For a small fee o per session a set of 4 crossbows can be hired along with a number of tin cans to shoot at. For those in buildings these can be used in your own accommodation, but for campers under canvas a "range" is normally set up in the wet weather shelter.
Please be aware that you are liable for any loss or damage to the crossbows or darts.
Thorrington has a stock of pioneering equipment with poles ranging from 6' to 18', lashing ropes, pulleys, large ropes etc. for traditional (or not) pioneering projects.
