On September 24, 2001 the UAE Thomians met at the Sri Lankan Consulate to hand over the "drought relief food items" collected and donated by the old boys to be sent to the much needy people in the Hambantota District who have been severly affected by the scorching heat and the lack of water which prevailed for several months.
Mr Asoka Godawita was very thankful for the generous effort made by the Thomians and thanked all who contributed in some way to make this project a success.
Viresh, Iqbal, Rajiv, Sujith, Ashaan and Fathi (Iqbal's wife) was present at the time of the handover. We all appreciate the generous contributions given by each Thomian and especially thank Lyndon and Fathi for their tiring efforts that made this day a grand success. |
