this is the last winter break i'll ever have

the snowpatrol album, eyes open, is really good. set the fire to the third bar is an awesome song

" find the map and draw a straight line
over rivers, farms, and state lines
...
i'm miles from where you are,
i lay down on the cold gound
i, i pray that something picks me up" -snow patrol

"the web isn't just a support system for hit tv shows. it's a new medium. it requires new storytelling techniques. the way the networks look at the internet now is like the early days of tv, when announcers would just read radio scripts on camera. it was boring in the same way all this supplemental material is boring." -beckett

i really like this story

"...rather than dissolving into the melting pot of their host nations, immigrants are increasingly maintaining their own culture identities. jets and nets make this possible..." -chris parry

saw pirates of the caribbean. it was good, but not as good as the first. i love how davey jones and his crew were created. the ending was annoying; the whole movie is about getting the thump thump, and then it doesnt get used in the end.

saw invincible. it was very well done. nothing supersuper, but gets across the feeling with enjoyable acting and story.

“'i play this game six nights a week from 8 p.m. to midnight,' he said in a telephone interview. 'when i say that to people, sometimes they look at me a little funny. but then i point out that most people watch tv at least that much, and television is a totally mindless experience...instead of watching ‘the lord of the rings’ as a three-hour experience, i am now participating in the epic adventure. think about it: t’m a 33-year-old guy with a 9-to-5 job, a wife and a baby on the way,' mr. pinsky said. 'i can’t be going out all the time. so what opportunities do i have to not only meet people and make new friends but actually spend time with them on a nightly basis? in wow i’ve made, like, 50 new friends, some of whom i’ve hung out with in person, and they are of all ages and from all over the place. you don’t get that sitting on the couch watching tv every night like most people.'" -from ny times

joke from wired mag article:
"these two middle easterners come to america. they get separated from each other, and about a year later they get together to see who had become more americanized. so the first guy says, 'i'm picking up my son from baseball practice, and then we're going out to mcdonald's. and then i'm going home to watch some nfl football. how about you?' and the second guy says, 'f_ck you, towelhead!'"

two new cd rewiews

wewt, new rx bandit record in stores oct. you can order now it it from the main page.

i do not endorse racial profiling or all of this comment, but is interesting: "muslims don't want to be racially profiled, it would be an unfair inconvenience. however, the real people who are inconveniencing them are not the security, but the radical muslims. i don't understand why the muslim community and religious leaders are not more vocal about comdemning and distancing themselves from these rogues. racial profiling is not the best idea because it puts all muslims in one basket, but if you're not all in the same basket, say so."

best of third eye blind cd is out. since we all own the other albums, is 1 unreleased track, slow motion with lyrics, and commentary really worth the cash? i'm thinking just buy the unrelease one on napster or something.

thoughts i've been having since reading articles like this. what happens to the people accused of terroism? what if one day you appear in the headlines. you are accused of planning a terrorist attack. do you have a chance at a fair trial? or do the gestapo come and take you away, never to be seen again? what happens when someone who is being "incovenient" get accused of terrorism for personal gains? from the above article, "king said he had been unable to publicly disclose the plot because to do so would risk the investigation." does this means that the public doesn’t get to know the details, and the accused can be delt with as the government sees fit? can the government refuse to cooperate because it would reveal confidental national security information/tactics?

"the role of the gestapo was to investigate and combat "all tendencies dangerous to the state." -wikipedia

that is all
.6.20.06. .8:38:am.

saw the break up. was decently orignal and expressed both sides of the story very well. i thought it was biased towards the guy and ari thought it was biased toward the girl. nothing super standout, but a good solid movie to see with your significant other.

i think i would put a couple together to make a couch. i just wonder if they erode eventually?

it is very interesting how close sci-fi and fantasy really are. both sci-fi and fantasy are figments of our imaginations. the only distinction is what fuels them, far-out technology or arcane energy. all you have to do is subsitute mana bomb for proton torpedos and it becomes legit fantasy

saw first descent. it had some great footage but i didnt like how it was put together. i didnt like the way they made it about the history and the riders in the back country at the same time. i would have rather it just have been about the back country. the result felt like very little of the footage was actually about them doing back country runs.

kaki king video

show your mommy that games arn't rotting your brain

watched fun with dick and jane. very good movie. nothing mind blowing, just a solid, all around funny movie. the little kid with the spanish accent was the best

watched hitch. was better than i expected. pretty original, and really shone in spots. some parts were really terrible though, borderline cliche rambling bad metaphores. you're a leaping rock with wings ice skating, who is scared of getting hurt? me too!
"i saw you eyeballing me! all up in my goodies!"

"what are you doing with the television!"
.5.16.06. .12:16:am.

watch it. its hard to know if all the evidence is true, or taken out of context. but it is worth watching, its very eye opening. if it is our government, we should be able to question.
.5.15.06. .11:48:am.

a thousand words

watched kung fu hustle. was decently entertaining. i understand that it was supposed to be campy, but it was a bit too much.

watched the first tomb raider. i was suprised, it was a lot better than i expected. entertaining action, but kinda shallow on plot and character development

watched hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. it was pretty well done. intesting plot and charcters, but the point behind it wasnt conveyed very clearly.

"true believers need no miracles"

why are the religious so quick to condem evolution? what if God created by using evolution? or what if God created basic creatures, and then let evolution create the rest? evolution relies on freak dna modifications to creat variants for natural selection. instead of random dna modifications, what if God made those modifications?
