Some fraternity members are known as "the flies" on their campus because of how dirty their house is (or was in the past)- the term came from the fact that there were always flies buzzing around close to their fraternity house. A Lambda Chi fraternity member actually thought that this nickname was some kind of a compliment and said (on Greekchat), that he and several of his brothers thought that they were known as "the flies" because they are "the fly guys of Lamda Chi."
The Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity is also traditionally know as the "Lamb Chops," "Lamb Chop Shop," and "the Chops." LXA's first meaning was "Loyal Collegiate Associates" which has been nicknamed "Loyal College Asses," "Little College Asses," "Little Creepy Assholes," "Lambada Che Alfeeah," "Losers Can Assimilate," "Lambda Cry," "Rammed-A-Guy," etc.
The Sigma Alpha Epsilon has its own nicknames, too (SAE) - "Somebody, Anybody, Everybody- help me please"; "Roofie boys" (date rape drug), "Sigma Alpha Everyone," and "Same Assholes Everywhere" and "Sexual Assault Expected"
