a man on the street
kinda short and perhaps a bit meek
tosses out a smoke
and lights another with a toke.

did you take something for granted
during that bit?
when dealing with sleight of hand
what you see is rarely what you get.

it takes seven principles and a little time
you need big guy to play bass and rhyme.
the principles are what you need to know
to get ready for a magic show.

to hide an object is to PALM,
you DITCH it to lose it from where it's from.
to STEAL is to draw it back out again
you LOAD an object to where you need it in.

use MISDIRECTION to lead attention away,
and SWITCH the objects while they are off that way.
a SIMULATION is a fake motion
often used to get across a thought or notion.

we see it again
from the other side and then,
it all seems to fit.
it looks great from where I sit.

we now know how all sleights are done
it's time to practice the fun.
before the lights dim, the silent one fools us again
it looks simple doesn't it?
