| The Sixes and Elk rivers are world class coastal salmon and steelhead streams located about 50 miles north of the California-Oregon border on US Hwy 101. We fish both rivers, depending on weather conditions. Salmon enter these rivers after the first major storms of fall (usually in November) with a peak run around Thanksgiving. Salmon season on the Sixes ends on the last day of December but remains open through March on the Elk. The first steelhead arrive around Christmas with the run peaking during the first two weeks in February. We are located about five miles up Sixes River Road from US Hwy. 101. We have a private boat launch and a very comfortable cabin which we offer free of charge to our clients.
