One of the most trying things while learning comics for me was knowing where to put stuff and how. As a newbie I knew nada about "file paths", It was mostly ppl in newbies that where patent enough to guide me thu it and in time it was second nature. That being said , this section will be about just that !   :o)

Characters
When you download characters from web pages or ppl send them to you, they need to be "guided" to a folder within your Microsoft Chat folder. The file is called Comic Art. The file path is : c:/ program files/microsoft chat / comic art. Check out the screen shots below:

This is what you see when someone in a room sends you a file. click on yes if you want the character.

The next step is to find and high lite (C:) in the save in box, this will display the above and from there you click on program files and you see:

in the box above locate and click on Microsoft Chat, it then should look like this :

as you see it now displays the contents of the Microsoft Chat folder , click on the Comicart folder and you'll see :

at this point your ready to save the file , just click on save and you'll  see the next box :

Congrats ! You have just saved a character to your comic art ! You can also save backgrounds in the exact same way , the path is the same for those. As always make sure the file your saving is from a trusted source and doesn't have .exe at the end of the file name .
