MEETING MONDAY NIGHT SCOUT HOUSE 8:00pm
Currently at last check we have over 6 groups registered!!! Planning is well underway and from what I can gather about the last meeting some
of us are going up Thurs night to drop things off and set up some stuff. I have be talking to Alison and she said that she has all the event
planned and some of them already staffed. Hopefully this means we just have to look after the nitty gritty??? Mom has some left over snack
food from the ORC conference and will donate the left overs to snow moot for half price.
Christmas Camp
We have decided to hold our annual Christmas camp from Jan 3-5. This is because most people are fairly busy during Christmas and those in
school have the first week of Jan. off. Our big Dinner will be on Jan.4 (as Cpt. Dirt put it "So long as the world doesn't end.") I do believe it will
be held out at camp in Harvester if we can book it for those three days. We would ask that everyone bring a dish (casserole, salad, dessert,
snacks etc) More details to follow. Some time during this camp we will be investing Heather, Alison & Melissa, unfortunately Mom didn't make
it this round and threatened to defective to an other crew!
Tea Party Dance (aka Drunken Rover Dance)
In Toronto This Friday night. Admission is free but you have to pay for the drinks! There is a minor $4 cost to crash over night! Mom is going
so let him know if you need a ride :)
ORC
The next ORC meeting in on the weekend of Jan. 7,8,9, in our Nations capital (hint: it's NOT Toronto, he he he) So far there is interest from
Mike, Dave, Mike and a few others. There was a thought of renting a vehicle and driving up with who ever came. Then on the way home drop
Mike off in Kingston and the rest meander back to Steeltown and return the car. The next ORC meeting is not till March.
World Moot
Currently only Mike.L, Brian and Gillian are going to the World Moot next summer. Mike has all the moot wine and we can get it off him to sell.
The three of them will be meeting in about 2 weeks to discuss transportation and other arrangements which have to be made. Cory and Laura
will be signing over the bank account to the other three who will be going.
81st Info
We are supposedly responsible for running a camp sometime this scouting year for all section of the 81st group (Beavers, Cubs, Scout and
those Venturers). Mike. L was going to facilitate organizing this and we are gonna help him run the camp. More details o follow later.
We also need representation at the Group Committee meetings as Laura is usually busy working or with her cub pack, Peter is also away trips
every once in a while too.
Laura has some popcorn left and wants to get rid of it so were looking for some sellers!!!
Curling Bonspeil
Yes it's that time of year again, it's time for the Hamilton-Wentworth Scouting Bonspiel! Most of us at the meeting decided to go even though
most of us are green to the core except Heather who used to be in a league. We heard how excellent the Tourney was last year and it included a
roast beef diner we could not turn it down!!! The date is Sat. Jan 23 at the Dundas Granite Club up beside the Golf Course.
