Day 3...  Morelos Outdoors
13 July 2000, Tepotzlan, Mexico
We awoke on Day three, eagerly anticipating our outdoor activities...  we had chosen them with our international teams the day before.  Here are some pictures describing my first impressions of the beautiful campsite that we were using...

Basically, these are two views of our camp, while everyone was milling around...

After breakfast, we were assigned a bus, and made our way out into the countryside.

This is one of the pictures I took from inside the bus along the route to our activity.  I thought it was pretty nifty looking!

This is a picture of our bus.  We ended up driving for about 3 hours out into the middle of the Mexican countryside, and then we stopped.  Upon stopping, we were instructed in broken English (and what I assume was decent Spanish) to leave everything on the bus and get off (or "get down" as they would say.)  After we got off the bus, we were told to get onto that truck - yes, that truck in the picture.  All of us climbed on, and proceeded to travel for another 45 minutes or so into the bush.

This is a view from the back of the truck!

When we finally arrived at our destination, we found a beautiful site including this river.

This is our team all set to go for our adventures!

Unfortunately, I don't have many pictures of what we actually did, because my camera would have gotten wet.  Anyway, I can tell you about it.  First, we went through a very cool cave where we saw lots of bats and stalagmites and stuff like that.  We needed the miners' lights and helmets for this part.  We even swam in an underground pool in the cave!  Next, we rapelled down a waterfall of about 40 or 50 meters!  It was absolutely breathtaking!  We did manage to get a picture of Bortz doing the waterfall thing (a couple of days later.)  Is this picture awesome or what?

At about 6:00pm, we finally got our lunch.  Then we travelled back to the bus and then back to camp!  When we returned, another meal (dinner) and another fiesta!  Then a relatively early night...  wow we were tired.
