The Hardy Boys decide to take their wives, with their unborn babies to a nice get away in a cabin. But Uh oh, There is a snow storm coming, what is going to happen. Read and find out.
(Scene - Joe, Iola, Frank, and Callie at a door of a cabin. The girls are about eight months along.)
Frank: | Well, ladies what do you think of our little cabin? |
Iola: | Roughing it, oh boy. At eight months pregnant, that is going to be a challenge. |
Joe: | (Taking Iola's hand.) Everything will be fine. You girls aren't due for another month. |
Callie: | Two weeks, two day's to be exactly. |
Frank: | She has been counting the day's down. |
Iola: | Me too. I am waiting, for the time, to get this over with. |
Frank: | So I guess Callie, and I can take this room, (Pointing to a room near them.) And Joe, and Iola can take that room. (Pointing to a room across the way.) |
Iola: | (Holding her back.) As long as I can get to a bathroom as soon as it hits, I have no problems with that. This baby just loves to lay on my bladder. (Looking at Joe.) You are never going to touch me again. |
Joe: | Oh, boy. Mood swings. |
Frank: | Well, it will be over soon. Then we have crying spells. |
Joe: | Well, I will put our stuff in our room. You can go sit over there on the couch sweetheart. Relax. |
Iola: | Okay just don’t be too long. (Her, and Callie goes to sit on the couch. While the boy's go put their things in their rooms. You see someone looking in the window, and the girls sees them.) JOE, FRANK, COME IN HERE NOW. |
Joe: | (Joe, and Frank comes into the room, as they hear the girls scream.) Sweetheart, what is it? |
Iola: | (By that time, the guy is gone.) Didn't you see him? There was a man in that window, looking in. (In a panicked tone.) |
Joe: | (Looking out the window.) Are you sure? I don’t see anything. |
Callie: | I seen him too. Someone was looking in that window over there. |
Frank: | Maybe it was someone that was wondering if someone was in this cabin. It looks like you might have scared him off. We will be right here. |
Callie: | I don’t like the idea of someone looking in on us. That is freaky. |
Joe: | (The guy's sit next to the girls. Joe puts a comforting arm around Iola.) It is alright we will make sure nothing happens to either of you. |
Frank: | I will get a fire started. I seen some firewood right outside. |
Callie: | (In a panic.) You aren't leaving us alone are you? |
Frank: | No we are going to be right outside. If you hear or see something, holler. We will come right back in. Joe you coming to help me? |
Joe: | Yeah. Don’t worry, whoever it was, your screams probably scared them away. (They went outside to gather wood.) What do you think? |
Frank: | I think we may have an intruder, but not certain, and in their conditions, I didn't want to worry them needlessly. Come on, let's go check that window. But keep from showing ourselves in the window. I don’t want to scare them anymore than they already are. |
Joe: | Good thinking. (They go to the window where the girls seen the intruder.) Well, there definitely was someone here. There are footprints. |
Frank: | I don’t like this one bit. Let's get the firewood, and get back to the girls. |
Joe: | You have my vote on that one. (They go back in the cabin.) Well, girls we have our firewood. How are you two feeling? |
Iola: | Better now that you are here. I was beginning to get a bit of a stomachache. |
Frank: | Maybe you girls are hungry. Our babies saying feed me. We have food in the pantry, also. |
Callie: | Sounds like we may have a couple of hungry husbands here, too. |
Joe: | (Giving an innocent look to the girls.) Me, I don’t know. Are you hungry Frank? |
Frank: | Oh, I think I could enjoy something to eat myself. |
Callie: | Well, we could fix something while you fix the fire. |
Joe: | Oh, no. You two are here to relax, and that is what you are going to do. This may be the last time before the babies are born, that we are going to be able to, and you two lovely ladies are going to enjoy it. |
Iola: | You know, you two are the greatest. Are you sure? |
Joe: | (Putting a pillow behind her back, and giving her a kiss.) You bet, I am sure. You are carrying our babies, and you are going to relax this whole trip. |
Callie: | Don’t fight it. Trust me, from what I have heard, we are going to be getting up in the middle of the night for the babies. So let's enjoy this. |
Iola: | Okay, but I am going to feel guilty. |
Joe: | Don’t. (Frank starts the fire, while Joe goes to get dinner started.) |
Frank: | (After he is done with the fire, joins Joe in the kitchen.) Wow, that smells good. |
Joe: | Oh, I thought I would fix us some spaghetti with meat sauce. |
Frank: | Sounds good. The girls are in there relaxing. It is going to be nice having a baby around.....(He looks at the window, and sees someone looking in.) Joe, I don’t want to scare the ladies, but I think I just found our intruder. |
Joe: | (Looking at the window.) Okay, you keep the girls occupied, while I go check him out. |
Frank: | You are fixing dinner. Why don’t I go check him out. I will find some excuse to go out there. (Frank goes out to the window, and sees the intruder, is still peering in the window.) Okay, mister. What do you think you are doing? (At that moment it is starting to snow really hard.) |
Intruder: | (Turning around real fast.) What do you think you are doing? |
Frank: | I asked first. Now I think you better answer. |
Intruder two: | Actually mister, I think you ought to answer first. I have a gun pointing at you, and I won’t be afraid to use it. |
Frank: | Okay, listen, my brother, his wife, my wife, and I are having a little vacation, and we are just resting. Now what are you doing here? |
Intruder two: | I think they are here to stop us. |
Intruder one: | Well, let's go in, and talk to his family. (Pointing a gun to Frank.) Okay mister, macho. Let's get into that cabin right there. |
Frank: | (Leading the intruders into the cabin.) Callie, Iola, we have company. |
Intruder one: | Okay, mister. Where is your brother? I only see two pregnant woman here. Come on mister.... |
Iola: | JOE!!!! |
Joe: | (Coming into the living room.) Well, we have company. What do we owe this pleasure? |
Intruder two: | I think you are here to get us. |
Frank: | We don’t even know what you are up to. I told you, we are on vacation with our wives. |
Intruder one: | Well, now you know we are here. So if we let you go, you will go to the authorities. |
Frank: | We don’t even know who you are, let alone, what you are doing. |
Callie: | (Starting to feel a contraction coming on.) Oh, boy. What are you going to do with us? |
Frank: | (Seeing her cringe. Thinking.) I don’t think I like the looks of Callie at the moment. (Outloud.) Why don’t you let us go. We don’t even know what you are doing here. So what are you supposed to report about? |
Intruder two: | Well, we can’t take that chance. |
Intruder one: | Well, it looks like we are getting a snow storm. I don’t think we are goin to go anywhere for a while. (Looking at Iola cringing.) When is she due? |
Joe: | Not for a couple of weeks yet. You leave my wife alone. |
Intruder two: | You are in no position to be giving orders. Now both of you sit with your wives. |
Joe: | One thing. I have Spaghetti cooking, and it will burn. |
Intruder one: | Okay, we could use some food. Jack, go with him to finish dinner. |
Jack: | On my way. (Intruder two, left.) |
Iola: | Well, we know what his name is, are you going to tell us what your name is? |
Intruder one: | Sam, now shut up. (He goes over to the window.) I think we are going to get it bad. I sure hope you aren't going into labor lady. |
Iola: | The name is Iola. And trust me Sam, I have put up with worse characters than you. |
Sam: | What do you do? |
Iola: | Well, right now I am on maternity leave, from a computer shop. My husbandis a DJ. |
Frank: | Callie is on maternity leave from a law firm, as a secretary, and I work for a contracting company. (Lying so he won’t know what they really know what they really do. Looking at Iola.) Iola, are you alright? |
Iola: | I think that was a contraction. I am not sure. |
Callie: | I think I had one too. |
Iola: | I have been having them since an hour ago. They are thirty minutes apart. |
Callie: | Mine just started. |
Frank: | Not good. We need to get you girls to a hospital. |
Callie: | Honey, even if we didn't have these nutballs, we still have to worry about the snow storm. I just hope they aren't born here. |
Iola: | I hope we get out of this alive. |
Frank: | We will get out of this. I need to let Joe know somehow that you are in labor, as well. |
Callie: | We need to get rid of these guy's. |
Frank: | Right now, we can’t get rid of them. We cant’ just leave them out there. What we need is to get them tied up, and that way we don’t have to worry about them. I don’t want to do anything to risk either of your life though. One problem at a time. |
Joe: | (Coming in.) Dinner ready. |
Iola: | I don’t think I could eat right now, sweetheart. |
Sam: | It seems we have two ladies in labor. |
Joe: | You aren't due for another two weeks. How could this be? |
Iola: | Tell, Junior that. He is ready now. |
Callie: | I have just started. Iola has been going at it for an hour. |
Frank: | Well, it is official we do everything together. Even have babies at the same time. |
Sam: | Well, what about our dinner? |
Joe: | I think I have more pressing concerns with my wife at the moment. But if you are sooo desperate to get something to eat, then, it is on the stove. I am not leaving my wife. |
Sam: | I think you can leave her, just to get me something to eat. (Pointing his gun to Iola.) |
Joe: | I swear if you hurt....(He say's through gritted teeth.) |
Frank: | Joe, Please, just do what he say's. If not, we may not get out of this alive. We cant risk the girls. |
Joe: | (Mumbling under his breath, as he get Sam some Spaghetti. And returns, giving him the plate, and sitting next to Iola.) Honey, how are you feeling? |
Iola: | (Starting to cry.) I want to get out of here. But between the storm outside, and these two thugs, I cant. |
Joe: | (Rubbing her back.) We will get out of here, I promise. We will have a beautiful baby, and watch him grow up, get married and have children of his own. |
Iola: | Let's remind him not to take his wife, to a far off place while in the last month of pregnancy. |
Joe: | Good point. See you are keeping your sense of humor. |
Frank: | How about you darling? |
Callie: | I will be the first to admit, I am scared. |
Sam: | What are you four jabering about over there? |
Frank: | We are seeing how our wives are feeling. We are concerned. |
Jack: | Well, you won’t have to be concerned for too long. |
Sam: | We can’t. These are two woman, with babies on the way. |
Jack: | We could always take the babies, with us. |
Joe: | I don’t think so. You are not touching my wife, or my baby. |
Jack: | (Hitting Joe on the head, with his gun. Knocking him out.) Now anyone else want to talk back? I won’t kill the girls, till after they give birth, but you boys we have no use for. So watch your tongues, all of you. |
Iola: | (In tears, checking for a pulse.) He is still alive. I can say that much. He needs an ice pack. We have one in the cabinet. |
Sam: | Well, then I can see that he don’t get one. NOW SHUT UP, AND PAY ATTENTION TO THE CONTRACTIONS. |
Callie: | What are you guys here for? |
Jack: | We are poachers, but it looks like we can sell your babies after they are born. |
Frank: | You jerks. |
Jack: | Ah, ah, ah. I wouldn't do any heroic stuff, if I were you, mister. Not unless you want to die before you get to see your baby born. And I wont think twice of killing you. |
Callie: | (Cuddling up against Frank.) I want to go home. They are talking about kidnapping, and selling our babies, and killing us. |
Frank: | (Comforting Callie.) I know. I know. (Looking at Joe.) |
(Scene: | About three hours later. Joe, is just waking up.) |
Joe: | What...Happened? |
Jack: | Oh, I see sleeping beauty is finally awake. Now, let's see how you are going to deliver your baby. |
Iola: | (Contraction coming.) They are ten minutes apart now. I am scared. They are talking about selling our babies, and killing us. |
Joe: | Oh, boy. Where is Sam? |
Callie: | He went to the bedroom to take a nap, while Jack here, watches over us. Mine has been coming every fifteen minutes. |
Jack: | Okay, no funny stuff. I am going to go in the kitchen real fast, and I don’t want any heroic stuff. Got it? |
Iola: | (Contraction ending.) No, no no heroic stuff. |
Joe: | (Holding Iola. Jack goes into the kitchen.) What's the plan? |
Frank: | Well, first we need to get these babies delivered. I want them to think they are going as planned. We don’t need to risk the girls, or the babies lives, right now. Then when they are born, we can attack. We have got to get out of this, alive. |
Callie: | (Contraction.) Another one for me. |
Frank: | (Holding her, making sure she is as comfortable as possible.) Breathing, Callie, do your breathing. (Callie does her breathing exercises. While Frank rubs her back) The girls need to lay down, while giving birth. Cant we go lay them down? |
Sam: | Okay, but one of us has to be in each room, to keep an eye on you. |
Joe: | Okay, just let us go in the room. (Joe, and Frank helps the girls up, and take them to each room. A short while later, Joe is looking to see what he thinks needs to be done.) Iola, listen to me, honey. It is time for you to push. Push on the next contraction. We will get through this. |
Iola: | Joe, he is wanting to kill us, and take our babies. I don’t like this. |
Joe: | (Goes up to her, whispering in her ear.) Sweetheart, right now I am concerned about you, and the baby. When the baby is born, I will attack him, get the gun, out of his hand, then tie him up with the duck tape I have in my bag. Just you pay attention to giving birth right now. (He kisses her on the forehead.) |
Iola: | (Whispering in his ear.) Okay, but I am scared. |
Joe: | Everything will be fine. I promise. |
Iola: | (Feeling another contraction.) Oh, Joe, here it comes. |
Joe: | (Going to the birthing canal.) Okay, sweetheart. Give it one big push. |
(Scene: | It is half an hour later, and Iola is holding their little boy in her arms, feeding him. That is when Joe makes his move.) |
Joe: | (Goes up to Sam, and kicks him in the hand that has the gun.) |
Sam: | What in the. JACK. (Before he could say anything, Joe, takes a left hook to his jaw, then another to his stomach, and gives a final knock out blow to his face.) This is for threatening my wife, and my son. (At that time Jack is coming in, to see what the commotion is all about. As he comes in the door, Joe, knocks him out by hitting him with the door.) Now, we are safe. (He ties the guy's up.) Sweetheart, I am taking these thugs to the living room, then checking on Frank, and Callie. Will you be alright? |
Iola: | Go, we will be fine. Thank you Joe. |
Joe: | (Looking at his son, in his wife’s arms.) No, Iola. Thank you. (He leaves, putting Sam, and Jack on the couch, with tied up. Then he goes to Frank, and Callie’s room.) How is it going in here? |
Frank: | I think we are about to give birth. What about Iola, Sam, and Jack? |
Joe: | Jack, and Sam are tied up on the couch, and Iola is holding our new born baby boy. (Tears of joy coming down his cheek.) |
Frank: | Oh, Joe. Congratulations. I am glad we are in the clear of those two. |
Callie: | Frank, here it comes. |
Frank: | Okay, Callie push. Let's give birth to our baby. |
Joe: | (Leaves, to go see Iola, and leave the two alone.) |
(An hour later Frank comes into Joe, and Iola's room.)
Frank: | Proud papa of a baby girl. |
Joe: | (Looking at the now sleeping Iola, holding their son. Then back at Frank.) Congratulations bro. Let's get into the kitchen so we don’t disturb Iola. (They do so.) |
(Scene: | It is two days later, and Joe, and Frank is at the hospital. The Hardys come in, to check on their family.) |
Fenton: | Well, what is going on? |
Frank: | I am a proud papa of a girl. |
Joe: | I am a proud papa of a boy. |
Laura: | (Giving her boy's a hug.) Oh, boy's I am proud. Where are Callie, and Iola? |
Joe: | They are being checked along with the babies. They gave birth at the cabin, while we had been kidnapped. |
Fenton: | WHAT? Are you all Okay? |
Dr. Meyers: | (To answer his question comes out.) Joe, and Frank Hardy. |
Joe: | Here. |
Dr. Meyers: | I want to say, your babies, and wives are doing just fine. They can go home anytime. You two done a wonderful job, taking care of them, even with all the excitement you had. Congratulations to you both. |
Frank: | Thank you, Dr. |
Joe: | Yes, thank you. |
Iola: | (Her, and Callie are coming out with the babies.) Well, we are alright to leave. |
Joe: | (The boys come up to them, giving them a hug, and kiss.) I am glad to hear that. Mom, and Dad are here. |
Laura: | Okay, let me see my first grandchildren. (She goes up to them, to admire, the babies.) |
Fenton: | Any names? |
Iola: | Well, we thought of Joseph Junior for ours. |
Callie: | We thought of Brianna Nicole for ours. |
Laura: | Well, I like those names, very much. |
