| Why do I hate Nelvana? They ruined CCS and chopped it all to bits. The cute, addicting, sweet show called Cardcaptor Sakura was turned into an annoying craphole called Cardcaptors. Sakura's voice in the dub makes my ears bleed. "Madison", the newly named Tomoyo, sounds like a valley girl and so on. I'm going to list the name changes and the differences between Cardcaptor Sakura and Cardcaptors *shudder* below. |

| Even though I hate to admit it, I used to watch Cardcaptors ragularly before I got the Japanese DVDs. So, I know all the name changes. | CHANGES IN RELATIONSHIPS What happened to Sakura's cute crush on Yukito? What happened to S+S? Some people say "oh, Li likes Sakura still in the dub! He blushes." BIG DEAL! Nothing ever happens between them like in CCS! The Touya+Yukito is taken out completely and so is Tomoyo+Sakura. I'm not going to complain too much even though T+Y is one of my favorites.... They also took out Touya's relationship with Kaho. It isn't that big of a deal is it? ?Then there's Chiharu and Takashi. Cousins?? They are not cousins! They like each other! Rika likes Terada sensei in CCS but they took it all out in CC. OK, I'm not going to complain TOO much about this one yet again 'cause it is kinda... strange but still. I had a friend who had a crush on a teacher at one point. |
| not-so-fun fact: Sakura's name in the dub was almost Chelsea. They kept it though and gave Chiharu the name Chelsea... |
| CHANGES IN MUSIC This isn't the thing that bugged me most, but it still is terrible. The opening song was changed into a song that is explaining what's going on through singing and bad grammar (...the powers was set free...). The music throughout the show is repetitive and boring and they make an attempt at inspiring kids (check out the song in the dubbed episode "The Cave"). The "just around the corner" song that is played in almost ALL the episodes and the backround music sucks. Lastly, the ending music. It isn't that bad of a tune I have to admit, but when you here the actual song with the words and not just the "nanana" it sucks. A lot. |
| CHANGES IN VOICES This is just TERRIBLE. Sakura's voice is so bratty, "Madison's" is like a valley girl, "Li's" is changed in the middle of the series, and I'd have to say the worst is Kero's. He sounds like a 20 year old man who's gone nuts. Meilin's dub voice I'd have to say is the best along with Aiden. They're both decent. Tori (that's a girls name) is pretty dull. It sounds a lot like the original but no expression. Julian is OK but he still sounds weird. |
