Fierge
My grandfather, Walter Alfred Fierge was born in Adams County, Illinois on March 3, 1907. He ran away from home at age thirteen after his parents seperated. I found  him on the 1920 census, living with a foster family in the next town over from his father. Walter joined the Army and served during World War II. At the time he was discharged, he was a corporal. He married Isola Roberts on June 24, 1944. They had two daughters and lived in Dallas, Texas. Walter died April 12, 1987 and is buried in Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
I recently found that Walter had five brothers and sisters listed on the 1910 census. Their names were Arthur, Harry, Ruby, Esther and Nellie. Their Father's name was Charles Fierge. He was born in Adams County, Illinois. His first wife's name was Annie Bubb. They had one son, Arthur. All of the other children were born to Lucy B., Charles second wife. All I know about her is that  she was born in either 1876 or 1877 in Illinois.
Charles father's name was Carl Ludwig Fierge. He Immigrated from Brandenburg, Prussia in 1856 to Adams County, Illinois. He was listed as a fisherman's son on his emmigration records. His Original surname was Fierke, but during Immigration it got spelled Fierge and that is how it stayed. You can find his Alias on his Civil war service records. That is why all of the Fierge's I have found come from Adams County, Illinois. He served the Union Army during the civil war in the 43rd Illinois Infantry co. F. He Married an immigrant named Mena(Minnie) Kadoy(Cadaw). I don't know anything about her. They had Charles, Frederick, Anna Mary, Louis during the Federal Census. I found Minnie living during the 1910 census with her son George, who lived a few houses down from Charles and family. Unfortunately I haven't found any Fierge's that know anything about these people. If you have any info or Fierge pictures please e-mail me.
