The farthest I have been able to trace the hix family back is Isaac C. Hix, who served in the civil war as a sergeant for the U.S. 9th infantry in Kentucky. I am looking for a picture of him, so let me know if you know someone that has one. Isaac C. Hix was born January 1, 1824 in Carter County, Tennessee. He married Nancy Pennington in 1849. From this union they had nine children. Their names were: Thomas Jefferson, William T., Daniel Boone, Mary Elizabeth, Martha, Reuben Fraley, Nancy Jane, John C. and Sarah.
Thomas Jefferson Hix was born December 27, 1856 in Monroe County, Kentucky. He married Sarah Elizabeth Doss on January 12, 1877. From this union they had eight children. Their names were: Odus, Oliver, Orville, Oscar, infant daughter, Ona, Olga, and Osborn.
Odus was born August 26, 1886 in Kentucky he moved down to Texas and married Frankie May George. They had two Children, William Don Hix and Ruth. Odus died on October 24, 1957. William Don Hix was born August 8, 1931 in Van Alstyne, Texas. |
