The day's papers focus almost
exclusively on the Bianconeri's transfer movements and acquisitions. "Zanchi
joins Juve" is the Gazzetta dello Sport's headline as the transfer of Udinese's
Under 21 international Marco Zanchi has been finalised with the Udine club
securing full ownership of Morgan De Sanctis. "Our defence is now sorted
with the arrivals of Paramatti and Zanchi," declares club general manager
Luciano Moggi, clearly delighted with his day's work. The Bianconeri's
transfer guru does not stop there in the Milan football pink: "The arrival
of Fabian O'Neill has strengthened the midfield and when Nicola Amoruso
returns as of 1 July we can say that our strike force will be taken care
of." Not forgetting the acquisition of Saint-Etienne's 18 year-old sensation
Vincent Pericard, of course.
There is more of the same
in the Corriere dello Sport as Zanchi swaps teams but not strips as he
will now be wearing the Bianconero of Juve. Over to the omnipresent Luciano
Moggi: "I hear everybody talking of big transfer coups that our fans want;
well let me just say that the teams who finished fifth and sixth should
worry about that, not us. Our aim is to repeat our performance of this
season except for the last game of course. The rain killed us."
Tuttosport focuses on Euro
2000, as seen through the eyes of Alex Del Piero who is keen to impress
in the showpiece tournament: "What we need is great support - of the kind
the crowd in Reggio Calabria gave us for the friendly against Portugal.
To do well we need to operate in a relaxed atmosphere."
