Now Del Piero wants to play

Two games, 18 minutes in the first match, 30 in the second but Alessandro Del Piero has already shown to the world that he's in great shape. And now probably being Italy's most talented player he wants to be on the field right from the start.

"Sooner or later my turn will come too," he said today. "I'm ready even if I know it will be tough as I won't be allowed any mistakes." However in order to play, Del Piero will have to beat out Francesco Totti's competition as Dino Zoff the Italian coach has no wish to let the two play together.

"These two players together would be my dream but we can't afford to have the balance of the team changed having two players with similar characteristics simultaneously on the field," said Zoff today.
