In the papers today, team
news and rumours from the transfer market.
The GAZZETTA DELLO SPORT
headlines the return of David Trezeguet, lined up in attack. The Frenchman
determinedly reports: "I have been training hard to play. I want to help
Juve to win the Scudetto". There is relief that the Italian General Election
date has now been fixed for 13 May, and therefore will not affect the top
Juve-Roma clash a week earlier. Del Piero will appear on the pitch on Sunday
despite his suspension. On behalf of a local youth charity, he will be
engaged in offering a symbol of peace to his Reggina opponents.
CORRIERE DELLO SPORT busies
itself with the transfer market. While the big clubs are looking for weighty
buys, Juve coach Ancelotti prefers to go after two talented Psv Eindhoven
players, both under the age of 23. Defender, Hofland and Danish midfielder
Rommendahl both played in the side who knocked out Parma, and they only
cost 25 bn Lire! There is also confirmation of Ancelotti's selection of
Trezeguet for his starting line up.
TUTTOSPORT is also focused
on transfer moves. Also at Psv, Serb goalscorer Kezman is keen to reassure
his possibile Bianconero employers that he will soon leave his current
club, although he is worried about beaurocratic obstructions in the way.
Rumours also of Juve interest in Nedved, now that he is available from
Lazio. Again, there is column space for Del Piero's peace gestures, and
Trezeguet's ambitions to win the Scudetto. Aside from the charity work,
Alex Del Piero philosophically reflects that, while suspended, he'll be
training to impress against Lazio. Iuliano is also fit to play, but will
watch from the stands.
