In today's Gazzetta dello
Sport, Del Piero launches a peace operation, after the controversy regarding
Collina's decisions during the match against Lazio, and regarding the whole
issue of certain clubs being favoured by referees. He says: "enough of
this poison, we have to think about the national team. Collina made mistakes
during Sunday's match, but he isn't anti-Juventus. Roma needs to be alert,
as the Scudetto is still a three horse race." Finally regarding rumours
that he could leave Juve, Del Piero states that it is history. Meanwhile,
the paper speculates that Juve are following the Serbian striker, Kezman,
who is the leading scorer in the Dutch league.
The Corriere dello Sport,
also reports on Del Piero's placatory comments regarding Collina, quoting
him as saying that "No one is plotting against us", although interestingly
he admits that "I wouldn't like Collina to referee the Juve-Roma match".
On the transfer front, the paper links the Bianconeri to Valencia star,
Kily Gonzalez.
Tuttosport shows that Del
Piero's gracious attitude towards Collina is not shared by the directors
at Juve, who have taken official steps to protest about the referee. The
article, entitled "Stop Collina!", reveals that the directors have presented
the Italian football Federation with a dossier, detailing all of the errors
that Juve have suffered at the hands of Collina. The directors are also
preparing to take a hard line regarding the passport scandals.
In the transfer market, the
paper also picks up on rumours linking the club to Valencia's Kily Gonzalez.
He could emerge as an alternative to Lazio's Nedved, who Cragnotti values
at 70 billion lire. Meanwhile, Maresca, still on loan at Bologna, has said
that "I would return willingly to Turin, but if I'm not going to play,
perhaps another loan move would be better". Finally, in England, there
are reports confirming that Bettega has been negotiating with Arsenal's
Vieira.
