In the Gazzetta dello Sport,
Del Piero reveals that he is ready to take on the responsibility of deputising
for the absent Zidane against Verona, stating: "I will play the Zidane
role". A confident Del Piero, who will play in the Frenchman's position,
showed that he is in a more positive state of mind, revealing: "I am no
longer worrying about making mistakes". The paper also describes Athirson
as content, after making his debut, he now feels at home; "The way I play
here suits my natural game".
The Corriere dello Sport
leads with the story that Arsenal's Patrick Vieira is ready to reject Juve's
overtures, declaring instead: "I want to play in Spain". Meanwhile, Del
Piero is being positive after the Bianconeri's last two disappointing results,
promising that he still believes in the club. Whilst Juve are having difficulties
at the moment, Del Piero, by contrast, is in excellent form, and is determined
that the club shouldn't stop competing, rallying the players with these
words: "We shouldn't forget the lessons from last season, a resurgence
is still possible". Against Verona, Del Piero will play in Zidane's role
just behind the strikers.
Tuttosport mentions transfer
rumours linking Govou to the club, claiming that he has said that he already
feels like a Juve player, and challenging the Bianconeri to buy the player
with a simple "Here I am". Another player who has hinted at a desire to
join Juve is Chelsea's young Italian midfielder Sam Dalla Bona, who has
said that he would like to play for both the under-21 team, and Juve. Finally,
the paper reports on rumours of contacts between Juve and Real Madrid regarding
the future of Zidane. The player himself, meanwhile, while still certain
to miss the match with Verona, is thankfully not running a fever.
