Alex is the most loved

At the "Football Oscars" last night, Alessandro del Piero, in a face to face with Francesco Totti, won the coveted "Italy's most loved player" award. This was the only one of the evenings awards to be directly voted by a public opinion poll.

In the photo, Alex collects the award, presented by Sandro Piccinini and Luisa Corna during the evenings awards at Parma. All of the big players in Italy were present, as well as Zinedine Zidane, in a live television link-up from Madrid, who scooped both the Best Foreign player award (beating Crespo and Rui Costa) and the Best Player of all award, narrowly defeating Totti.
