The day after the draw against
Bologna, club doctor Riccardo Agricola reported on the state of the various
injured players at the club. Marcelo Salas has problems with the anterior
cruciate ligament in his right knees. In the next few days a decision will
be made as to whether he needs to undergo an operation, in which case he
would be likely to be out for at least the next six months.
Alessandro Del Piero has
undergone some specific tests regarding his left hand: tests which revealed
a fracture to the second metacarpal bone. The player has had a light cast
applied to the hand. This injury shouldn't stop Del Piero from playing,
nor lead to any time out.
Igor Tudor, who on Friday
was still feeling the effects of an ankle problem that hadn't fully healed,
didn't play against Bologna, but on Sunday he was able to resume full training.
Nicola Amoruso has already
managed to come through four training sessions with the squad. He seems
fully better now, and therefore his return to first team football should
follow shortly.
Fabian O'Neill has now overcome
the problems that he had with his right thigh. As of today, he will resume
training with the rest of the squad
Antonio Conte played with
the youth team on Saturday, and physically he is now fine. He is now working
on getting his match fitness back.
