Del Piero: "On the market?
Juve did a good job"

After facing the National
Team issue, the talks are about the football market which, this season,
has reported an important reorganization because of the squads' balance
sheet problems. Another change is on the fact that the few negotiations
regard defenders.
Del Piero explains: "We talk
about defenders because the two greatest ones are available on the market,
Nesta and Cannavaro." But none of them joined Juve: "I am not surprised
- answers Del Piero - but I expected onne of them. We'd all noticed the
football market was taking a certain road, with less expenses. I think
there are other changes."
Moggi said the bianconero
market is closed. "Now - the player jokes -, if he said that, it means
that we should still expect something. Anyway, even though Juventus made
little changes we did a good job, but we want to win, as usual. Our aims?
The Champions League and the championship, although I'd take the first
if I had to choose."
The contract, the salary
cuts, another much talked about subject nowadays. But it doesn't affect
Del Piero: "My contract expires in 2004 and the old contracts won't be
modified, like Moggi said. Then, little by little we'll determine the changes,
we'll weight things up considering the club's and the players' requests.
I've been here for ten years and we'll take a decision that's good for
the club and for me. Do I want to be a manager when I stop playing? It's
strange that they're worried about what I'll do ten years from now... As
long as I am here I can do my best and I have no intention to leave."
