Del Piero, great "first"

Just like twelve months ago. Juventus won (convincing) in the seasonal debut in the Serie A 2002/2003 (always waiting to play the real "first" match against Piacenza) and Del Piero was straight on the top of the scorer's ranking.

Two goals last year against Venezia, two against Atalanta today. And two were the great goals against Parma in the Italian Sueprcuip in Tripoli. The start of Del Piero in the Serie A 2002/2003 is really a remarkable one for the Juve captain.

And also for the whole Juventus: "I'm very happy for my match,"  Alex confirmed, "and for the way the team tried to achieve the victory. We played a very good first half, we never stopped in trying to score. In the second half we rested a bit, but we didn't risk very much."

This start of the season seemed quite good: one cup in the showcase and three points in the Serie A. He was decisive but the captain preferred to share the merits: "We've started well. We were ready to play. My goals were the result of a very good first half but also Di Vaio or Nedved could have scored instead of me. I'm happy for my match, but this is only the first step."

The first "busy" week has just started, and it has in the ideal way. Juventus is on the top of the league, waiting for its debut in the Champions' League. "The important thing is starting well," Del Piero said. "Inter and AC Milan did it yesterday, while Roma wasn't very lucky. We're having a good moment and this match has to give us the proper enthusiasm for another fight on Wednesday. We're going towards some important moments and we'll need all our strength. We'll try to have it all through the season".
