Juventus
was the absolute protagonist at "Campioni per sempre" (Champions forever),
gala organised by sports newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport to award the protagonists
of the Italian sport in 2002.
At
the Ariston Theatre in Sanremo there were be the volley female national
team, the biker Marco Melandri (world champion in the 250 motorbike class)
and Rubens Barrichello from Ferrari, the swimmers Davide Rummolo and Emiliano
Brembilla, plus some other famous Italian sportsmen, hosted by Pippo Baudo,
Luisa Corna and Andrea Zorzi, who will introduce the show, but the real
protagonists were the Juventus players.
In

bianconeri took six places, with Marcello Lippi as ideal coach: Gigi Buffon
(best goalkeeper), Lilian Thuram (best right-side defender), Gianluca Pessotto

and Alessandro Del Piero (forward) were awarded with the "Golden Rose".
The other four players of the ideal team were Vieri, Totti, Nesta, Maldini
and Emerson.
The
only bianconero who missed the event was Alessandro Del Piero, selected
for the "Rest of the World" team which will play against Real Madrid in
the "Real Madrid Centenary Match", while all the others were at the ceremony,
which will be broadcast this evening at 20.55, on Raiuno Tv.
